Yeah I liked vees grilles..i think they were from a seller on ebay. Used to see them listed time to tile, but I think seller is in asia, and I vee said they needed work to fit good.
I like the 8gb front over the 8ga because of the beak and it reminds me of the evo. I prefer jdm fronts usually over 8ga as well.
If you want the evo look then you're gonna love my car come summer time!

Finish it and sell it to me
Dude... that's coming along pretty good.
that's from last summer...in December I was able to work on it a little...although not as much as I wanted...but its at least one bumper now, not two =D
I don't have any pics of after this but this gives you an idea of the end result...ish

Next thing I have to do is actually put it on the car and start forming stuff to look good. My car was down a bit this winter so I lost a week or two because of that...it sucks not being able to do stuff while I'm away at school :/

And I thought fiberglassing my grill was cool. My bumpers gettin the treatment soon too. Is that gutter mesh from Home Depot?

demond0d5, looks like you're going to use the gutter mesh and splice two pieces together, go to home depot and go to the construction section, they have a big piece of metal mesh, I think for concrete, and if you use that you wont have to spice two pieces for the top and bottom
Oddball, yes it is. Gutter mesh usually in the same area as all the wood, over by the shingles and stuff. About $3 each
Kyle, each piece is just big enough for each sections. I don't have to put any together at all. (2) $3 pieces as opposed to (1) $30 section is a lot better IMO...since each mesh is covering the hole I'm not too worried about it, I don't think I need 1 piece to do the entire bumper, be a lot of waste on the back side. I was pricing out mesh for the entire thing because I didn't think the gutter would cover the bottom one but it does =D

Lancer OZ Rally Lip came in today from member..."g-ridda" did a little cutting in the middle to make it fit in the "mouth" of the bumper...but other than that fits like a fucking glove...lines up perfect and the end caps snap right over...you almost don't need to use screws or adhesives
Just need to clean/smooth the cuts a bit...

DAAANG SON!! Look like they where meant to be together. Good job.
Thanks...can't wait to color match and get it on my car
Are you gonna bolt it on or fiberglass them together to make it permanent?

I made my own set. It's not hard work but it's kind of tedious since unlike the 8GA grill where it's a straight cut to the fins, the 8GB grill has horizontal fins that end at a weird angle. So it's best to cut as close to the edge as you can and then carefully sand out the rest of the leftover bump until it's flush with the border of the grill.

As you see on the sides I didn't do that but I got kind of lazy and it's difficult to cut the end of the fins because the fins are hollow and it will create notches into the border so I guess cut them out and fill it up with bondo.
Yea this is what I did also
Alright thanks for the tip. I saw an Accord with a body kit at Bdubs yesterday and it had mesh in its grill but it was all mangled and coming off and looked like shit, so I want to try and avoid that. lol Once I get the mesh Ill play around with it and see what I can come up with.
Had another nice day so I installed the fire extinguisher in the glove box, it's a tight fit but it does fit.

I also did the mesh grill mod thingy, but instead of cutting the fins out I just decided to put the mesh behind them to prevent stuff flying in and hitting the radiator.

I also filled in the giant opening towards the bottom of the bumper for the same reason.

Not too bad for a couple hours of work if I say so myself.

^ look so sick. Did you paint them or have them powder coated.
Mishimoto Radiator, Treadstone Intercooler, and everything else for the cold-side.
Sold my old wheels today as well.
dude matt...we need pictures!
i painted them, used aircraft paint remover to strip em clear down to the black layer then sprayed em with a high temp paint. didn't do thaaaaaatttttt great of a job but its good enough you wont be able to tell unless you really get up close. didn't touch the back side at all
not sure if i should rebuild them or not...heard its messy but i don't really think they need it. any tips on how to check?
If the boots on the pistons are not all swollen you should be good. Check for rips or tears.
