that will work, you'll have to run a good deal of camber and run a 235 or 245 which will be a stretch.
Your better off just going 18x8.5 or even 18x9 to be sure it will fit. Volk makes their wheels in a ton of different sizes and offsets. Check out some GramLight 57 Maximum Pros, Advan RS, or Wedsport TC105n. They are all in that Volk price range, some even a little less and they have that aggressive style.
I'm very happy with my Wedsport SA-70
I have 18x8 40+ 17lbs w/ 235/40/18 and still clears the brembo.
Okay thanks for the help and information guys ive been looking at these wheels listed below that really catch my eyes. They might go on alittle easier.
Volks TE37 18x9.5 +22 Pressed Graphite
Advan Rg-d 18x9.0 Black (Offsets +25,+35) I would like to have a nice deep lip on it.
Advan RS 18x9.0 Dark Gunmetal (Offsets +25,+29,+35)
Any thoughts?
I think the advan RS in either +25 or +29 will be fine. My Work Cr-Kai's are 18x8.5 +25 and im fine, so the extra half inch width with the same offset is only adding 1/4" to the inside and outside edge, should be fine. I dont think your getting those TE37's to fit right unless your stretching a 235 or 245 over them and running stupid camber.
My brother has a set of 235 that i could probably use. Also I kinda like the wheels alittle further out of the body so I really wouldn't run to much negative camper on it. I have fender flares that I have to install still
Bro any luck with the G. Did you checked the ECU by your guy? I would run the evo stock coils. just for testing.
No luck man. Still waiting for the guy to come by and check this ecu. Ur right we should check how stock coils work. I'll have to by some or transfer them from another evo to test
True. you could try that.
I've even been looking at ccw classic wheels.that may be a good step to go being that there custom for the car.Im thinking about going trigger mauve and I want some nice shiny mirror like wheels to go with it. My suspension is very stiff.I would press done on the car with all my might and it wouldn't budge. The car is high enough to clear 19s with no problem so it should be fine. But after I get some wheels I'm going to go with a set of good coilovers maybe D2 or Ksport.Maybe even Megans if there good.
I would go D2 or BC. For your future power goals, you might want 18's with a wider tire to get some more traction. Stiff suspension and 19's suck, there is nothing to absorb the motion since the tire sidewall is so stiff.
Yes I agree. That's why I'm looking for a good set of 18's. Don't get me wrong I love my 19x8.5 and I think the wheels are very aggressive but for performance wise I need something alittle different. My future plans after this cars running safe and the way it should io'm going to slowly start my awd swap. I already have evo8 tranny, transfer case, and the full rear end from a auto 98 gsx,gas tank, etc. Probably send everything out to get built and then go ahead and start putting some stuff on starting with the rear
Okay guys so I found someone selling a evo8 ecu on evolutionm.net very close to me.Maybe only about 20 min away.Turns out I knew the guy lol. Well the ecu was swapped into my car and had the immobilizer key disabled. Turns out it was the ecu cause all systems are go now :)). The cars just running alittle rich so the guys are gonna do some minor adjustments to everything and let me do my miles for the future tune. I just have to buy an exhaust now.
a few weeks ago i also would have recommend d2. they looked like they were built good and were very comfortable however the whole top mount is made of a rubber/ plastic material and that is all that is holding the strut plate/ pillowball mount to the body of the coilover. and well i jacked up my car to do something a few weeks ago and it snapped. after seeing the build quality i immediately ordered a set of teins. while they are not as adjustable the build quality is proven to be the best. and it is really the only set i would recommend anymore.
the bc's are essentially re branded megans or vice versa for that matter and they are ok but very stiff. (bc's i believe you can pick from a number of spring rates though) also the pillow-ball mount is exposed under the hood and does need occasional maintenance.
if you do go d2 let me know i have 3 good ones and 1 which needs the upper portion replaced. i would be willing to let them go very cheap as they are just taking up space at this point and i have no plan on ever using them.
NICE!!!! You mean build an exhaust??? LOL
Nice bro. Take videos. Lots of them
