I just read your thread from beginning to end. I didnt expect to sit in front of my computer for a couple hours today....
My V6 is my daily.... My V6 is my daily......
Wellll, if you ever get the V6 mod bug, don't hesitate to find me if you need anything, whether it may be spare parts or any information.
Ok... subscribing to this so I can get on board with the V6 bug. I new what I was gonna do to my 2.4 but this one is completely different. I'm thinking manual swap first.
^ The manual swap, imo, is the place to start once maintenance is up to date. From there, everything else done becomes that much more noticeable because of the reduced drivetrain loss.
This platform was plagued by the automatic it came with, it seriously might be one of the worst transmissions ever put into a car.
how are you gonna route the pipes?
both dp and pre-turbo pipe from the rear bank are gonna be under the oil pan? or you have some else in mind?
i've been wanting v6 8g for some time now, wanna go the same exact route as your most recent.
looks good so far
Correct, they'll both route under the oil pan where the factory y-pipe fits. The rest of the piping will be a very short and efficient route. Something never done before on the 8G V6, thanks to the turbo placement that has been determined for this project.
Love your build man keep it up [emoji4]

Thanks man.
Another part arrived today. Forge BOV. Gotta keep the ball rollin'!

Also picked up a new set of wheels. Finally something I can fit over the Brembos without a spacer since I'm not exactly fond of making 400+whp while using some cheap spacers.

what brand? xxr or rota?
Either that (400whp) or 120mph+ in the straights.
Well you're on a track so I guess it is pretty intelligent
What size tire are you looking at running?
I'll stick with my current sizeof 245/40/17. Although, I may throw 255/40/17's up front.
Nice going on both the bov and wheels. I never had to use em but the thought of me ever needing spacers would make me nervous.
255/40's all the way around man! You won't be disappointed! Mild roll in the rear and you should be golden!
Looks like u can barely fit ure finger between the brembos and the wheel :D
Another package yesterday. A reminder of how much building a custom turbo setup can add up in price very fast.

Also, I now have my tires from my old wheels on the MB's, and it's time to offload the Rotas.

A little shipment from Frozen Boost showed up on Friday.

And after today's 10-hours road trip, I have a JDM rear bumper with extensions as well as new-style side skirts. Picked up a hitch for the Endeavor while traveling as well.

you bought travis' parts!
I did. Between these parts and the 5-speed swap, his parts will live on in good hands.
I agree. He still has a couple things I want like the window visor and the 64 intake mani. haha
The intercooler showed up today. Tearstone TR1035.

Lovin your updates
Does the JDM rear bumper stick farther down from the car than the factory US one? Or is the only difference those slats that are cut out of it? It will look great on the car!
It doesnt pop out as much, you could literally use the usdm as a step to climb on to the roof of the car, not so much with the jdm.
Here's an example of the differences:
The USDM bumper sticks out further and doesn't have a very defined lower section where the slots are.

The JDM VR-4 bumper does not stick out as far and the lower edge of it flares out further to make the lip more noticeable.

^^^ like anything JDM, not easy to come by and expensive.
Today's arrival. Now to install it in order to build the turbo kit around it. The choice in the Mishimoto will allow proper clearance for my turbo placement.

run an oil cooler. my car ran hot with that radiator. thats why i am now on a full size. and maybe drill a small hole in the tstat.
An oil cooler is already on my list ;)
Is it possible to swap in the MIVEC version of the 6g75?
Jared, I haven't purchased one yet. I only have one on my items to purchase list while I decide on one.
Sexy8g, yes the mivec engine fits. You'll just need to make an adapter to fit the distributor and modify the coolant crossover housing.
Sounds alot like extra $$$$$
