^clean!
i like your colors!
That's on my wish list. =)
Yeah. Have fun affording one.
^ 35K is not hard to afford, im sure if you got your finance's straight its affordable.
BJ, your X is looking very clean. I can't wait to see what you have in store for this i know its going to top the galant!
What?
$600 a month for a payment at 6% APR and a minimum of $200/month for insurance unless you're well over 25. Add in at least $100/month for maintenance of a very high-maintenance high-performance car.
That's $900/month. You want to rephrase what you just said? It's more affordable to lease a BMW 5 series.
Unless you credit is crap you should be able to get way under 6%.
It's not a $15-20k car. It's harder to get a low interest rate.
I'm not paying 6%. I pay less. And I don't think you quite understand that 6% is actually pretty damn low. The national average is about 7.0% for new cars, even with the shit economy. THAT is if you can even get approved right now.
But go find out for yourself.
But I'll challenge any of you. Go look at a new Evo this weekend. If you can get one off the lot and actually be able to afford it, you win. This isn't one of those scenarios I'm arguing from a "what if" perspective. I obviously know better than anybody here, except fellow new Evo X owners, what the truth is.
I am not saying you can not afford it nor am I saying I can. I am saying that right now I can get a new car loan for 3.75% for up to 60 monthes.
I was preapproved last week for $33000 with nothing down last week. I have been looking at getting a new truck.
I do not think we need to whip them out and see whos is bigger I was just stating a fact from what I have seen.
whip it ouuuuut
what
Good for you. Now go apply for the same loan at a Mitsubishi dealership and report back. There are so many factors, that you saying a 6% interest rate, which is BELOW average, is high was just a dumb statement. "I am able to get x% APR on a particular vehicle (*cough* not mentioning the dealer or manufacturer interest rate incentives) so that means somebody who is getting y%, even though below the national average, is paying too much." Dumb argument, deal with it.
I did not get it I at a dealership I got it at my Credit Union they do not care what type of car it is.
I always get approved before I even go shopping.
On my first truck the dealer wanted to tote the note. I asked them what they could do and they were .75% higher than my bank so I told them no they came back and beat it buy .25%.
It is all a game and you have to know how to play it.
Like I said, I'm not paying 6%. Even if I were only paying 3.75% APR, at 60 months, my payment would actually be more... I have a 72 month loan. There is a major part of the difference.
Hell, if anybody here driving a modded out Galant can afford a $37k car, I've gotta ask... why are you still driving a Galant? Saving money... sure, to an extent that makes sense.
Not ready to move on yet unless a find a SICK deal, also I need cash for inventory for my new bussiness which makes more sense to me at this moment.
I drive it because I am a big guy and fit in it better than an Evo.
I have a 9g more room.
There is a UFO hovering behind the Escort...
haha
Fine, laugh at me... I fucking see it there, I swear!
I was paying for a $25K car and a $35K car at the same time from 2000 to 2005. That's about $1400 a month with insurance. I love not having car payments monthly. I can probably afford more than a $40k car, but I just dont feel like working my ass off to pay off my bills.
oh yea i can prolly afford a brand new honda fit! ya bitch ya!
but seriously this is about the gayest argument ever....
oooh i want an evo....lol
but i'd rather have an ef hatch! jk but i do want one....i am a honda guy too
I always wonder why people can say "I can get this car" "I can get that car", its only blah blah blah X amount of money. and hell to know they dont know what their credit is, nor know how much interest or the basic concept of a loan.
Ive been follow the last several posts. A tip to all who are buying new cars.... it may be 30k for 60months/5years out the door at the dealership. But its gonna be around 48k by the time your done paying for it. Now under the circumstances that your down payment is 20k and your credit is like 800+ with you being well over 25 (i would just be wondering why your buying an evo) aside the the point. So much variation are taken into consideration. Correct me if im wrong, Now when TJ says "afford" i believe he means, you have no problem handling monthly payments with plenty to spare at the end of every month with all other expenses taken care of also. Examples, You make 2k a month, your evo&insurance cost you 600$ + 1k$ of bill and daily expenses leaving you with 400$ to spare. vs you make 5k a month your evo&insurance cost you 900$ + 3.5k$ of bill and daily expenses (iono you have to much kids or something aka child support) ending up with the same 400$ to spare. So if you have money to spare after paying your monthly bill of evo and the expenses that come with it. Then you can afford it.
