well I ran a shitty time at the track last weekend. 13.6@107MPH. Couldnt get the damn car off the line. 2.6 60ft time.......eekkkkkk. Once I get that handled it will be in the 12's
welcome to the world of high(er) hp fwd cars https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/laugh.gif nice time, and very nice trap.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(1166gvr4)</div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah man def i have been in the dsm game since the early 90's i know how to make anything with a 4g63 fast the slowest dsm i have ever owner ran a 13.9 it was a N/a 94 talon fastest being a 9.89 that was a 90 tsi awd with a 2.4 ffwd connection stroker xp and a gt30r6r blower. any questions i would be glad to answer vr4's are fun little cars you would never expect one to hand you your a$$ the looks of the suckers i blow by alone are worth every cent.</div>
I've never heard of a naturally aspirated DSM. Tell me, where do they come from? If you know enough to put a 4g63 in the 9's, you better damn well know that a naturally aspirated Talon is not a DSM.
Is that right well you must not know much then n/a refers to naturally aspirated, its obv you dont know that much so ill make it easy n/a has multiple meanings, an certified tech such as myself refers to an n/a as a vehicle running on its own air supply aspiration is a word you should have learned in 8th grade it means to take in air or breathe, natural meaning not tampered with or in the condition it was created., unaltered. no forced induction hence the NATURALLY ASPIRATED all e/t/l 91-92 vr4 89-94 n/a or turbo had a dsm badge under the hood, stick to something you know, i know dsm's you obv dont, anyway, unnatural aspiration being a blower or turbocharger. thanks for trying to be a smart ass but dum dum dum another one bites the dust huh, you dont give up trying to shut me down do you well how about i just do this, i have three warnings,4 fuck you 5. fuck you 6. fuck you 7. fuck you 8.fuck you 9. fuck you 10 fuck you, there you go thats what you need to get me kicked off here feel free to do so. i bet you feel like a 11. fucking idiot right now do you even own a turbocharged car, i didnt think so you own a honda, dont try to be some kirblakestan motraguy 12. mother fucker overlord this isnt a hipocracy is a fucking democracy. get with it. please ban me jesus this kid has an 8 pound water head. you have a 1.8 liter n/a piece of dog crap, wow you have v tek you car is still a slow piece of shit. sorry to ruin your day hondas suck always have always will. if you think you car is quick come down here and line up, i will race you for anything you want titles money, i dont care name your price boy. i will even re tune my car to run on pump 94 and turn the pressure down to 18 psi, so you atleast have some kind of chance, lol not
well since this little prick just got shut i will be leaving the forums, i am tired of this little guys shit, he thinks he knows alot more then he does, it was nice meeting all of you any questions can be directed to my e mail or IM me specimentypex on aim or aol. thanks and good luck to all, except you fagtegra go flip that pos off a cliff, it belongs in a junk yard. i am going back to dsm tuners where people dont run the flapper about everything and people say thanks when i help them not oh man fuck that fuck you blah blah blah, and cry like a little girl when there is one error in anything posted. to all that have 91-92 vr4's we will gladly let you become part of the dsmtuner's family. stop on by and sign up and leave this childish shit, go to a place where people are not afraid of being flamed because they are new and where you can get real answers not smart ass comments. dsm tuners is about helping newbies not tearing them down like all of you do, i was new at one point all of you " know it all" " experts" were also new at one point hell alot of you still are, i am about helping people not flaming them because they dont know anything.
DONT FILL MY THREAD UP WITH YOUR BULLCRAP. PM him or start a thread in off topic You only get on the list with cars you currently own. Ill update it now.
So what are the mods on the evo motor? What turbo? Pretty impressive :thumbsup:Quote:

I was rather surprised that he ran that good of a time seeing that he got off the line so slow. I'm glad I went to the track Sunday to see him run in person. The best part was when he went up against a WRX. The WRX pulled out in front real quick, but Stewi came out of nowhere and smoked him. That was funny.Quote:

the EvoGala (that's the new name i gave it) got so much freaking power that once he gets to 3rd he is freakingggg gone. and beating 2 scoobys proved it they both thought they had him and i bet the guy was like JaRule, "no Moooonnniiiccaaaaaaa". Bryan you should get it dynoed i would like to see how much torque you pulling cause I think that is your downfall off the line.Quote:

He ran a 2.6 60ft, thats pretty crappy. If he got some slicks or drag radials and ran a 2.0 or under 60ft, he probably would trap a lot higher and run high 12s.
He did have on slicks, as it was clearly displayed on the highway https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...fault/ohmy.gifQuote:

I know for a fact that Stewi couldnt even get his tires to warm up with all the crap that on the tracks from the hotrods that were riding in front of him.Quote:

Yeah I was running BFG T/a Drag Radials, 225/50/R15's at 25psi. I wasnt having much of a traction problem but more a lack of power problem. the car doesnt produce enough exhaust gas when launching because its not under load. at most the turbo is at like 10psi, i dump the clutch or side step it, the car spins for a split 2nd, then dead hooks, and then turbo lag, then finally when the turbo spools them good for the rest of the run. Im gonna try using an MSD 2 step rev limiter, this way i can max the revs at 6,000 but be at WOT when im doing it, that should allow me to move enough air to spool the turbo, if all else fails, then i will run a 50 shot off the line. In 2nd and 3rd gear once you hit like 4500rpms, that thing is out, pulls soooo hard. Figure with a good launch I should be running 1.9 60ft's and that 13.6 run I dont know if you can hear it but i missed 2nd gear, you can hear me hit the rev limiter in 1st. I also need to change the valvetrain, so this way i can rev to 9k safely so im crossing the finish line still in the power band. Believe it or not, if you listen thats only 3 gears, i cross the line as im hitting rev limiter in 3rd, which will also give me a huge advantage over the AWD cars that need to shift into 4th.Quote:

im not building much boost at all, maybe 8-10 psi if i launch at 7k. I just realized im jumping ahead of myself, my standalone has a 2 step launch controller, i gotta program it.
you can take off from 7k and not lose traction!?!? i can't even take off from 5k without spinning through first.. i can't even floor it any time during first, and most of second :?
Sabzi do you have an LSD??
Yeah but in 1st gear at a 7k launch the car is only spinning 10psi on that big turbo. Once the turbo kicks in there is a little chirp, then 2nd gear and 3rd gear i dont get any wheelspin, BFG Drag radials at 20psi. It was about 50 degrees out
You have an LSD though right? WHich brand/type? Sounds awesome to have hardly any wheelspin with your power!
damn and its only going to hook up quicker as the temps rise.
read in another thread that you are running a quaife. i think i'm going to get a lsd for my next mod, sounds like its working wonders for you. How big a difference does it make in the twisties?
what kind of fuel management are you running?
Did you get the quaife clutch type lsd?
Nah, Quaife LSD's are Helical Geartype, Kaaz is clutch type. I got the quaife it has a lifetime warranty even for racing. It feels good, you get a good amount of torque steer down low but its manageable, turns are great, I also have Tein SS-P racing coilovers too. Fuel management im running an Electromotive Tec2 standalone, MAP sensor instead of MAF
nah, still running the crappy stock open diff. i'd like to get a kazz clutch type, but first thing's first, i need awd. i'm pretty sure it will make a bigger difference. seems like that setup really does help traction though. i'd be all for it, except i'm the type who runs at the track what i run on the street.
the AWD swap is way more effort then its worth> i know a guy with a Eclipse GST, automatic with slicks that runs 9's You dont need AWD.
you swapped an evo engine into a galant, don't you think that was also more effort than it's worth? and if it's more effort than it is worth, why don't you tell me exactly what is involved in the swap to awd? so far, i haven't seen anyone here who claims to know how to do it. everyone keeps saying it's too hard, not worth it, but no one seems to know what it entails.Quote:

now compare that list to this one: http://www.dsmtimes.org/awd.htmQuote:

next, read what i saidso that means i don't add anything, or take anything away from my car when i get to the track. so realize that yes, i do need awd. not to mention my car is not a drag car and that is not the only fun i have, and in addition, i hate fwd. so there! https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ult/tongue.gifQuote:

the AWD swap entails cutting out the rear floor of the car to have enough clearance for the driveshaft to fit, and then raising the floor and re-welding it, and to fit the AWD tranny you have to cut and modify the front cross member. There was a guy who posted on galant forums who converted his avenger to awd and it was like $8k. Its not the parts it the labor. And when i bring my car to the track all i do is change my tires. Again to each his own, if its something you wanna do, then do it. And the EVO swap, for an FYI, wasnt a hard swap, it was time consuming and its not as costly as a AWD swap, again to each his own, if you make your car AWD, I will give you props, but to me its not worth it, if it is to you, do it, i'll suppurt it, its your car.
i'm no moderator, and i DO think this line of posting is some real good stuff, but i think its really getting off topic from the intentions of this thread. lets try to keep on the topic at hand.
lets keep up the discussion, but maybe we could move it to another thread...
I dont mind this kind of off topic. If you want to post a slip go ahead. I can filter through it https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ult/tongue.gif
Its still on topic, talking about how to make your galant the fastest hehe.
Update on me: Had a coolant leak from the water pump. Took the pump off, resealed it, currently re-doing the timing. After that gets put back together, just have to finish up the batterybox in the trunk(drill 2 holes) and off I "should" be.
Hows your swap coming John?
such a pain in the ass to think i was doing this a month ago, and i'm already swapping in another block. new motor didn't come yesterday, so i expect it monday. pulling the blown 4g63 as we speak. new stainless line and fittings for the oil cooler came thursday, along with a full set of gaskets that i ordered. when i get the motor on the ground, i'm going to start pulling it apart to get all the parts ready to swap over. i'm also taking this oppurtunity to clean up a few messy last second wires i ran. i think i'm going to put a 4g64 crank in this old block and build it, but i don't know, a friend of mine that runs a tuner shop in town already offered me 400 for this blown block so i might as well sell it to him to cut my losses.
let this be a lesson to everyone, don't use the soft oil line that comes in oil cooler kits. it may take the heat, it may take the pressure, but one day, something is going to fly out of no where and slash it, like it did me. and now i have a bad cylinder (75 psi) and who knows what else wrong with my block. a perfect engine down the drain.
anyways, if the motor comes on monday, i'll have it running again monday night.
just pisses me off, i was on my way to getting a bigger turbo, and a phantom grip insert.
My girlfriend hates my car now.
hehe welcome to the club. My g/f has a hate/love relationship for my car. Ever since we started going out shes only ridden in it once hehe.
Yah I have one soft line, one SS line on my oil cooler. Reason being I snapped one of the AN fittings on the other SS line and have to order a new one. I just used one of the soft lines that came with the oil cooler kit for the time being.
Man, just put my timing belt back on and somehow its off 1 gear or 2. O well, I dont mind doing it, shouldnt take too long to do.
Hey John and/or Sabzi, where at in the trunk did you put your battery? My box fits perfectly in the passenger side right behind the strut tower, but it looks like it will be hard to drill for the hold down bars on one side because right under it is a support. Any ideas/pics?
that is exactly where i put mine, although i haven't anchored it yet. i put two screws in the bottom of the box, but the lid is always flying off, so i think i might try to fix that tomorrow.
HAHAHA dude my girl hates my car too. Anything I do that takes away from "our time" she hates.
my girl used to love my car,
i taught her how to drive it like a champ.
double clutching, quick shifting, blazing through the twisties.
even taught her how to stage, and race.
she did it well, and exactly like i told her too.
It was so hot, so fucking sexy.
i used to have her drive it back and forth through this set of curves where i could sit on a hill and watch. It was awesome.
the only thing better than watching your hot girlfriend drive your hot car, would be her doing it in a bikini with a delicious chicken sandwich in hand.
chicken women and cars... in that order.
now she despises it and thinks i choose it over her.
but i have a feeling that once i teach her how to drive the car, read and understand the gauges, and handle the shear power of the new motor...
she be stealing my keys while i sleep and sneaking out in the middle of the night just to drive it.
If i knew where you lived... her and me bothQuote:

nope, it's a lot easier than that. i don't know about the other members, but i drive a 7g, not an avenger. labor, i would do myself ofcourse as always. and like i said, when i go to the track, i change nothing, not the tires, not removing the spare, nothing. i'm not going for the fastest time i can possibly pull, i'm going for the fastest time i can go with my car how i drive it. and my engine swap was more costly than my estimation for swapping to awd, but then again my engine swap included a dual ball bearing turbo and all supporting mods.Quote:
