There is no universal ROM. Every rom is unique with there memory locations. They all have knock filtering not knock sensor on the Galant it needs to be added via hex. The thing is to define it and find the correct locations. You can't just copy one xml to the other. Universal ROM..... MAYBE. I would say.... 2001-2003 we could use any rom on the PCM. Like you could use my 02 rom on a 03 PCM.. but you need to get the immobilizer out. 99-00 could use the same rom.

You need Tactrix 2.0 with mitsu reflash connector, evoscan, AFR wideband, working xml for your rom.. And know what you doing.

3 maps. 3 fuel, 3 timing. First time i have seen on the galant PCM. Only the evo9 have 3 to 4 maps.

Yes "BIG MAPS ONLY". Better resolution for tune. And stock pcm is not limit to 100 load. It could read and give timing and fuel calculations for 100+ loads. This is only done on the big map patch rom. No on stock rom.

Stock rom could be tune for smoothness to give better performance but not for boost.

Hey one thing isaurio, I saw what I need to tune my engine, but seeing as you seen to know coding I'm trying to add in all the prices for CAPS ASA 8 g galants as a summer project. I have managed to get a scraper to give me the part numbers and prices of parts off a mitsu parts website. I have seen it done where in caps you get external prices via an .txt file I tried to this and put my info in a .txt file and it did not accept my files eveb though I put them in same format as the one that had worked (from 3si 3000 GT site). I tried looking at spacing of numerals etc any thoughts?

I have worked and running with my 2.4L big map for about 3 months now, Testing, adjusting and trying to avoid knock. so far i tune up to 100 loads. Soon i will test the big map for boost reading, meaning to get reading above 100 loads. Right now it is set to 200 loads at 7500k RPM let see if i find any bugs.

If it works i will start making a standard basic base rom for members to try. This is going to be base on my 2.4L 02 ROM stock rom.

NOTE: this is a 512Kb SH rom Late 01-03. People using the H8 ROM is only 128Kb wont be able to flash the rom due to the small memory block. This is 99-early 01.

I wonder why the late model NA ecus have a 100% load limit. Some early ecu like the RVR I'm using have a max load of 120% but the GS ecu has 100%. While the MAP sensor only ECU, like the mirage 1.5L, has 160%

Its the car industry man, they prob were ablt to the ecus on more back in the day and maybe had to change a chip or two to load vehicle specific info. Lately since the only thing they turbo sare the evos and maybe diesel trucks it didn't make sense to use a boost capsable ecu prob so they went to standard ecu for all cars that can swapped and unique ecu for boost.

^ Yes. our car 99-03 Galant. 00-05 eclipse they all are naturally inspired. Meaning you wont see loads above 100 loads due to mechanical spec. So all PCM or ECU are code to read loads only to 100, it wont read above 100 loads boost levels. The evos, 3000gt, 2g eclipse turbo, have the code to read the loads above 100 loads making the ecu capable for boost. New fuel injected cars works around the same concept.

It could read boost but dont have the resolution to tune above 100 loads and above 100 load pcm guess the timing u dont hade control and it could damage the engine. Is a member using stock pcm and he is boost and he is making good numbers. Is not recommended to do it if you dont know what u doing. This member knows what his doing thats why is going well for him.

You have to be reeeeeeally careful tuning in this situation and understand how the ecu interpolates to make it choose the timing you want to run. I definitely cant wait for big maps though. Its going to change power goals for future builds for sure!
