Nice parts, cant wait to see the finished product!
I see Phizz being close to finishing his AWD swap I decided to update this thread. I have done much work to the Galant by sitting on the sofa and watching TV.
Well finally I did work on the car.
Yesterday, the pedals got installed and new master clutch cylinder. Took care of the driveshaft misalignment issue - it now sits on straight. I have the carpet waiting here and bunch of other small things to go in the car.
My next project is to put the mock up block back in, install a DOHC head on it and do the wiring harness.

I just found some good shape rear bench seats. It came off a S model which didnt come with arm rest and the metal backing. The seats are very light.

The engine bay hasnt changed although Im going to pick up an engine tomorrow. I found a 97 engine with 95k on it for $210, not bad at all. It will get Eagle rods and Evo 10 pistons.

Also found some Eclipse gr2s with stock springs. The assembly is already 1 inch shorter and it should go lower under the weight of the car. Now I need to find some rear shocks and springs.

how are you going to do that setup? evo x pistons went to a 23mm pin correct? boring rods is around 200 bucks. also, the stock bore size is 86mm for the 10s so did you get 20 over pistons which are 86.5 stock for our bore? interesting concept as they arent forged either
i got quoted $200 for the wrist pin bore fix and balancing the assembly. You got the sizing right - they have to be .5mm over and they go for 67 bucks each. It doesnt matter they are not forged, the car will be daily driven at 20 psi on hx35. Nothing these pistons can handle. But hey if i get a deal on forged pistons I most def will use forged pistons
well all that means is later on you can use evo x forged pistons. interesting innovative thought. look forward to seeing it, i also like how the evo xs use full floating pistons.
I got the motor today, and I had a bit of a problem in the yard. Since it was a SOHC motor and I dont need another SOHC heaad, I went and asked if they would sell me just the block for less. No good - block or entire engine for $200. Well I went and found an 1g and pulled the head off it, slapped it on the block and done deal.
Started taking the engine apart - balance shaft's teeth were shredded and the water pump was shot. Just on time for the 95k mile and proly very little maintenance.

Whats the benefit of the EVO x pistons besides price?

did you ever come up with a solution for the side skirt caps? does a lot of debris go in the gap?
