resin, no where around me sells epoxy
Polyerster resin is okay to use as long as its clear. The stuff they sell at autozone/walmart is not clear. The only part that i wouldnt use the polyester resin on is the armrest. Its way to brittle and will likely crack if you put too much pressure on it. Epoxy is much less brittle. A good source for resin and lots of other materials is http://fiberglasssupply.com/Product_...t_catalog.html
They have good customer service too!!!
I love CF, but too much of it can be tacky.
looks great so far bro keep up the good work
u need to learn to lay it better n not fuck up the pattern so much,.. and get rid of those ugly ass eyelids
depends on if it is done right or not. we will see on the final product
thanks man
as always, you are an awesome help. i found some great clear coat from a local hobby store. you brush it on and comes out awesome. when im done ill post pics.
dude seriously? get the fuck over yourself. atleast my eyelids arent rainbow like your shoes that wont even be made now.
^ i u nno everything i post up he posts negativity.. im just pointing out what could be improved on..
^ and yet the eyelids have nothing to do with it. its your only attack on me because of everyone else attacking you. about the pattern, yeah some places got a little crooked and with the arm rest if you ask dave the corners are hard as hell to do. but thanks for seeing that.
i was really talking about on the glove box.. but yea arm rest.. rock on
yeah you can see in the glove box that it shifted a little, not too bad tho.
thanks for help. ill try to fix that on my next pieces.
wat do u use to hold the CF down before u coat it?
you use the base coat of resin to lay it to the piece, that holds it in place until you coat it
u can always use something something with less esistance, so you can manipulate the patern easier
well on the glove box, it was my fault when laying it that i didnt notice it kinda turned. but like dave said with the arm rest, there really is no way to avoid it.
i didnt even see it in the arm rest.. all in all it looks good.. cook ur headlights n CF everything in there minus the reflectors.. thats what im workin on now
what do you mean?
btw, im about to post cleaned up pics. they have a few more coats of clear + i used the dremel to clean up rough spots.
oo not sure how well that would work, maybe it would still illuimate light if you put enough clear coats on it. but i would rather keep my reflectors
well my dremel is fucked up right now, but i got some work done before it got messed up.
