So this is a fit? We are 100% sure of it? I don't wanna get this thing & it doesn't work.

a guy i work with has an Optima V6, the engine looks like the 6g72 but i cannot be sure. it is an auto tiptronic, has the same brake setup as my car so it is possible that the V6's may be the same. would you guys like me to take pics of the setup?
as for you v6e6rs i dont know but give me time and ill find out. i4s 100% matc. brian call me 919-665-8645 and we can work something out on parts you need. brandon
I believe the Tiburon also use a variant of the 6G72. Isn't the Optima a Kia? Does Kia used Mitsu sourced motors as well?
i maaayy be wrong but i believe the 3000GT has a 6G72 right?

3KGT has a 6G72, but its oriented 180 degrees from the 6G72 in the 8G Galant and 3G Eclipse/2G Stratus
the optima/sonatas also use the same brake setup as the galant/eclipse, so a rear disc swap is available too but not really neccesary since those parts are plentiful
The 99-03 V6 Sonata/Optima used a variant of the 6G73 which is 2.5l. I think the xg350/300 used a variant of the 6G72 and 6G74, that's why a lot 3G guys use it's manifold.
The Sonata/Optima 2.5L/2.7L V6 are the same as the Tibby, which is a Delta engine not the Sigma like the 6G7x. The Delta is a smaller V6 class like Mitsu 6A1x V6 but no relations between these engine. The XG300/350, Santa Fe, and other Hyundia/Kia minivan and crossovers vehicles have the 6G7x variant with DOHC. Same head casting as the 3KGT and share many many parts with them.
So you said this worked. Did you install the tranny in the G ?? I'm in the market for one and got the money for the 3g tranny minus few parts. It would he cheaper for me to get the sonata one instead
We have sonatas over here but I doubt a transmission would be swappable because I'm 4g93 ?
so no more new update on this ??
