Dude Adrian awesome work! Cant wait to hear a clip as well!
still need to find time to put some vids from my camera on my dad's laptop to clear up some space on the memory card.
but anyway my Anti-Lock light decided to randomly come on last night on the freeway... on my way to go down some twisties.. and i mean lots of twisties. Decker Canyon Road to be exact. I still went down anyway and didn't have any problems. Turned the car off when, went to the beach, and came back this morning and the light didn't come back on. BUT, on the way back up some other twisties, the light came on again, then turned off when I started the car again after breakfast, then came on again on the freeway.
So I searched and there seems to be multiple things that could be the problem. Wheel bearings being bad, excessive differences in RPMs of the wheels, and not sure what else. I am 99.9999% the car has not gotten the wheel bearings replaced and it has about 155,000 miles LOL
Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor too, or ive heard it call the ABS sensor. Whatever it is.
I tackle twisties without ABS on the regular. I personally like cars without ABS better, It just makes the car more of a car than a computer IMO.
hate to sound like a follower but I dont have it on the g or on any of the other cars that i had. I have driven in cars with both and i prefer without abs. as jigz said it just feels like a car without it.
well I just want the damn light to go away and stay away. Pretty sure I won't be locking up my brakes ever. But this light will make me not pass SMOG, no? I need to get the car scanned, but the light only turns on every once in awhile
disconnect the light...........
damn, california will fail you if the ABS light is on?? WTF?
I am pretty sure any code that would show up on an OBDII scanner will make you fail SMOG.
correct
My smog place that I go to didnt make me put on my stock intake, I had the same setup you had, stock piping w/ MAF adapter & cone filter. He said it was cool. Its an exhaust/SMOG shop that me & Jimmy are familiar with in Inglewood...
Do you have a name and address of the place? Its about an hour south of me, but I'm actually heading down that direction soon. I just need to figure out this damn ABS stuff though, cause the light keeps coming on after about 10-15 miles of continual driving

J&J its on La Brea on the south of aborvita on the east side of the La brea its a yelllow building. If they give u any problems just tell them u know jimmy with the silver and black galant
Okay, I just took my car to a SMOG place down in Mission Viejo. Threw the stock air filter housing on there, made all the extra vacuum lines look like they actually went somewhere, and there were no questions asked. Passed with flying colors. Oh and all for $49.50 haha
haha i posted some pics previously of the stock air filter housing bolted it. I just removed it and put back the K&N filter so I can't snap a pic haha
How's the 74 so far? Any videos yet?
haha no, no videos yet. I just got my new laptop so I finally cleared up the memory on my camera, so now I have 31 minutes worth of recording space on there, so I'll get something soon. Maybe some driveby's, some in car shots, and I was actually thinking of filming the entire drive down Decker Canyon Road (supppperrrr windy.. and about 20 minutes)
Today was the first time I heard my car revving even a little bit from outside the car (at the SMOG place). Even with the stock filter housing, it sounds sooo nice :)
haha well I had to get my shift covered for work today, so I have some free time :)
okay well I took some videos and destroyed my camera in the process (literally) but I'm uploading them to the computer right now. I still have to edit them but I'll upload them to youtube after I'm done with that
edit: nevermind. These videos are terrible. You can barely even hear the car b/c it was so windy outside
excuses...excuses. lol j/k bro. What happened to the camera?
the camera tipped over during an in-car run. it still works fine, its just the automatic lens cover broke off. :( I made a compilation video anyway and I'll post that on youtube within the next hour
and here you go:

nice video... so we can see that u car run perfect without any problem...
but last time I drove a v6 galant that damn... I just pushed that gas... and easily start to bournout... its wasnt a big bournout.... but it was nice just pushing the gas pedal...!!!
so I was hoping to see something like that well should be more crazy wth the 6g74 engine huh...!!!
haha if i'm sitting and launch then I get some wheel spin
there u go thats what I was talking about...!!!
sorry for my english..!! ;(
haha its okay, you're improving a lot it seems
It sounds really good. Damn do these v6 projects make me wanna get a v6 and use my 4 cylinder as a daily. How much did you get the 74 for? (if you dont mind saying)
I picked it up for $450 which included:
-long block
-Intake manifolds, throttle body
-Exhaust manifolds and cats
-power steering, alternator, and AC brackets
-full thermostat and housing
-clipped engine harness (saved my ass on the TB)
I paid about $60-$80 in gas just to drive to the place and back, and luckily my friend didn't charge me to drive me in his truck
That sounds like a really good deal. I don't see myself doing anything rather huge for my 4 cylinder galant anytime soon and by that I mean boost. So i think a v6 with a 74 would be more than enough for now. What difference do you feel from the 72?
Might I add that I am looking for a v6 but looking for a cheap one where I don't spend too much on it. Kinda of like what Spd_frk got his for. One maybe with a engine problem or whatever where I can get it cheap and just get a 74 to drop in.
^^I say some cause I have yet to actually really launch it haha. I was just messing around one day with my friends when we were driving to their house at like 2 in the morning. I need to find some open roads out here
