Damn. Lol. Now I have to admit that he was right. Thanks Galantman03. Lol. But really, this is gonna be one hell of a learning experience. Can't wait to get to it.

good luck, swapping an engine isnt that hard...its a great learning experience, and when u have the old one out, take it apart and you can learn alot about how a motor works and on the rebuilding process
I loosened the mounts except belt side tilted tranny first. Guided it out on two jacks. Like 20-30 mins.

Awesome info guys! Thanks. I'll take all the helpful tips possible.

if I had to do it again, I will install my motor from the bottom, so much easier! But if I had to remove a junk motor, I would just jack the car up, and unbolt everything, and just let that sucker drop LOL. (That is if the block has a whole in it) just remember though, just because the motor is "junk", doesn't mean that you can't use anything off of it in the future aka block crank(if its not marred) ect dude.
Very good point. I reused some stuff from the first 64

Yeah, that's the idea. I'm just not sure how bad the block is yet.

If you suffered oil related failure, which you obviously did, the chances of being able to reusing anything in the lower end is pretty much zero.
Yeah. I'm sure the whole block is trash. I'll be reusing the alt and starter more than likely. I don't know yet.

So I think I'm gonna go Grassroots with the build. Dont know if they are in my area or not, but I got the rules and everything for it.

That'd be a good time

while you have the motor out that would be the easiest/best time to install polyurethane motor mount inserts
Already planning on it. Lol

Well, some serious things have happened and everything has been put on the back burner. Hopefully getting car tomorrow. Still fighting with the girl friend cause she said junk it. So that card is back on the table...
So I have been doing some pricing and stared to wonder... should I keep the car i4 or should I go v6? I'm removing the motor and trans and subframe anyway. What would I need from the v6 donner car? Or would it be a lot easier to just swap in the i4? I'm deff doing the manual swap while everything it out. Let's get your opinions on this...

Never mind that... looks like I have to stay i4. The state of Missouri won't allow me to change from 4 cylinder to 6. Car must maintain the same number of cylinders supported for the car. So looks like I'll be doing an i4 build anyway.

Was going to say, you'd need to weld up some things in the engine bay, Dion (deeznutz) did it a while back but he had to change a mount point in the bay and had to be precise with his welds. More trouble than it's worth IMO, especially since an Evo head swap can be done on a 4G64 if performance is what you're after.
I was actually just being curious. Love the 6g75 idea, but could find the thread talking about the i4 to v6 swap. Just thought I'd toy with the idea since everything was gonna be out of the car already. But I'll be staying with the i4.
