OMG I smell AWD 8G ahead!
The biggest risk to running 235s or 245s in the particular setup in question will be rubbing. However, Blue, you are right, a larger sidewall will detract from overall performance.
Comparable tires, improved performance with the shorter profile Exclaim UHPs, nothing more.
225s are just about perfect on 8" wheels. 235s fit nicely on 8.5". But this also depends on the brand and model of tire as different manufacturers tires are slightly wider or narrower than others. For example General Exclaim UHPs stretch better than many other tires, but aren't physically as wide as a comparable Nexen N5000 of the same size.
Oh snap!
shittttt stewi. Finally a USDM AWD Galant!

I shaved my ass today.
Well today it happened, the G refused to run. It would bog down @WOT. It would only go if you babied the throttle and even then had trouble. It happened a few times before and soon as the car earmed up it was good. Got home and played with the throttle and thats when I smelled a sulfury, rotten egg/car battery stenched as I revved her. I ruled the CAT. Soooo I just finished gutting it, after starting the car with open header and noticed how smooth it revved. LOUD, but smooth. Anyway heres the pics, I will be replacing as soon as I clear my credit card of the $200 I owe. I did it because my other G seems to run smoother than this one, its not gutted though. Plus from the 20car mile drive home hesitating, stumbling and thinking of running the only codes I got was the 421 threshold. And 300 misfire. I think due to clogging issues. Let me lnow what you think was I right in doing this in order to make it driveable as I save up for one.
