look i wasnt being a dick the first time either. i was just giving you shit. anyway, i think that you should really consider this a progress thread and if someone posts their opinion then thats that and nothing more. you know that you are learning and this will take time to get good at so if someone does say something negative or with constructive criticism in mind then dont get butthurt, just take it in stride and strive to prove them wrong. im just sayin
I understand that man, but not in a forsale thread. this is where i want to hear the opinions good and bad so that I can fix the problems that i havnt noticed, so yes i thank you for helping me get better at it.
Well, here is my newest project.
It has a secret to keep it together :D but i have NO resin/hardener on it at all. I must say, I wish i could find a way for the raw carbon fiber to stay like this and not get damaged because it looks soo much nicer.

there is only 1 or 2 spots that it got a little wavey and that happened when I was trying to get the rubber part back onto the plastic insert. otherwise this thing looks awesome. I just wish there was a way to keep it mostly raw cf and still protect it.
what do you all think?
edit: the pattern is much nicer then my old stuff too, its thinner and easier to work with.
you can wrap it in clear plastic like your grand mother used to use to protect her furniture and it will look the same and be protected.. but your arm will stick to it..
that and it wont be as clean in your interior like that, good suggestion tho :D
im just going to finish it with resin and what not. it just looks and feels cool raw.
Your work is progressing VERY Well, glad to see you got a good grasp of it now.
thanks, i was reading on a carbon fiber company online and well, they stared out some works in their process, and well i tried something new. they said they use an ********* so i was like well, what could that be and tried something, it worked wonders :D
very nice!
my secret and theirs :D before i leak it, i just want to make sure the resin and everything will work over it
spray glue?............................................. HAIRSPRAY,,,lol.
hairspray would be funny to work, and the spray glue, no
just spray clearcoat over it.
tried that, it just soaks it in
That looks 10 x better than your last arm rest..
thanks man, almost ready to do yours?
Here is some more pictures of the new arm rest. I only got the top covered with Resin as Im trying to work on each area and see if that creates less runs and less sanding out the runs.
To cut down on the "yellow" I only did 1 good layer of resin, and then clear coats. I also read that this is a better process.

So what do you all think?
it looks great!! So now i can send you my pieces right lol =)
any pics of the sides?
not yet, only one side has a little resin since it kinda ran a little so i had to smooth it out and the other has none yet. the top i need to do a few more clear coats to get it completely smooth and the back needs work too
