Appreciate it. I actually picked up the springs for $140 off of CL. I was surprised to say the least to find out they go for $360 over at the Eibach site lol.

Absolutely love your drop+wheel setup. My goal got my Galant right there lol.
^prepare to spend a lot of time massaging fenders and adjusting camber specs if you really want to do it. if I could do it all over again, I'd get a set of bilstens for an evo 8/9, mod them to fit (which after taking some measurements would be quite simple) revalve them for the rates and run a set of swift lowering springs with adjustable camber plates and arms. granted I wouldn't have ride height adjustment but I'd have a terrific suspension setup for relatively cheap, better than 90% of the coilover setups for the 3g/8g chassis.
How much is relatively cheap to you? lol.
basically free, a little drilling, a little cutting, and you're done.
I'm gonna look into a few different things when the time comes to drop money into the final suspension setup. Thanks for the idea.

notice any similarities ??? same basic setup, the shock mounts are a little different but the galant shock mounts will fit the evo shocks, then it's just pick your lowering spring adjust the bottom holes for clearance on the knuckle. Anyway, this should probably be in a different thread.
in the rear you just cut your old bottom mounts off the shock, have them welded onto the bilsteins, done. so if you can't weld maybe 30-50 bucks to have those welded. it's 50 bucks to revalve a bilstein, so another 200 on top of that you're looking at around 800-1000 grand for a set of bilsteins properly valved for lowering springs that will last a long time and be superior to most coilovers available for this platform

What would make them better than coilovers for the 8g? Other than lasting longer as you said.
much much better valving, ability to use a plethora of different springs that are available for evos and have the shocks/struts valved for those springs. You have no idea what proper valving does for handling. shit, the off the shelf valving for the billys will be better than most any coilover for our platform imho.
oh and the ride will be terrific, again because of the valving .

You might even be able to get a bolt long enough to go through both holes on the evo shock and use a sleeve around the bolt between the brackets to keep it from binding, hell just cut the bottom off the 8G shock and toss it in between the evo brackets. Shit For Bilsteins I'd be down to try.
Might sound stupid and un-safe, but who says our rear design isn't.
I would not weld or know anyone who is willing to weld a shock housing full of pressure!! It's very unsafe.
Its done all the time with coils. Plus since the bilsteins can be taken apart you can relieve the pressure if you want.
I agree. No welding on suspension, F that. Just get true good brand coilover, LSD, and front and rear strut tower. You will have the ultimate handling for the g.
