Holy shit this is fucked up, i take a drive down to FL and beat his ass with a crankshaft!
hahaha good one Roman, that sounds like an awesome idea to me
Bro this cars f&*king awesome!
Any progress bro?
Yeah i started pulling the motor apart and this week or after Chrismas...not sure yet ganna send the piston to CP and get a new one made. After, gatta put the engine back together again and right back in she goes...see how everything turns out.
Man I hope everything goes accordingly. I'm not doing turbo or nothing but after I do ALL the shit I gotta do she should be almost as good as new lol.
I ment to post this up but forgot. As you all know Im using an 03 Outlander intake manifold with an Evo 8 TB. If anybody in interested in doing the same here is how to set it up. I found this a while ago on Club3g.
I looked and looked and no one has ever made note of using an Evo 8 throttle body and TPS on a 4G64 Wiring Harness or 3G Eclipse if you would.
First off it bolts right up and does not include any cruise control equipment. Mostly because Evolutions don't have cruise control. Secondly both TPS's use the same connector which is 4 pins but only 3 wires. The wire colors differ and the pin placement does not match up. If you where to plug it up only 2 connections would be made of the 3 wires.
So your gonna need to pin out the connector or if your a barbarian cut the connector off the Evo your stealing your throttle body from. Pining the connector is easy and just requires a sharp pick and if its your first time a little bit of puzzle solving and effort.
Ok lets start... look at the connector with the open end facing you and the little clip part facing up. From left to right you have pins 1,2,3,4. The Evo use's pins 1,2,4 and the eclipse uses 1,3,4.
Simple Instructions:
Move Pin 1 on your connector to Pin 4.
Move Pin 3 on your connector to Pin 2.
Move Pin 4 on your connector to Pin 1.
(Basically swap the two out side wires with each other and then move the center wire to the empty hole.)
Defined Instructions:
Evo Pin 1 colored Green/Red, connects to ECU / Airflow Sensor /Map Sensor
Evo Pin 2 colored Green, connects to ECU / ACD
Evo Pin 4 colored Black, connects to Ground
Eclipse Pin 1 colored Black, connects to Ground
Eclipse Pin 3 colored Yellow, connects to ECU / Cruise Control
Eclipse Pin 4 colored Green/Yellow, connects to ECU / Airflow Sensor / and Map Sensor
Later Il post how I did the Knock sensor wiring and Speedsensor wiring.
Hey guys, not sure whos going to read this but I didnt want to waste a thread about this silly thing but I been trying to change out my ball joints but damn thing is F'n hard to do. I looked into the handbook about how they did it and in it, it says... I would have to chage the entire lower controll arm. Now I do not believe this at all...bc how the hell did they even get it in. If it goes in, than it can come out. Has anybody changed thier ball joints and have some tips for me? Thanx for the time who ever gets back to me.
You can replace the ball joints, BUT i emphasize but. The ball joints themselves are hard to find and they have to be pressed in a certain way, really just replace the lower control arm and you will be set, its a bummer but you could get the poly bushings at the same time and knock it all out.
Yeah I was thinking of changing out with better bushing also, but Im not sure Iff I wanna spend like 90 bucks each for a lower control arm. I know there is a tool to use to pop them out but looking at the ball joints...im not sure its going to work but imma give it a try. I was not sure if anybody else have done it and can give me tips on how they did it.
I had the same problem I couldn't find the ball joints haha, but the ball joint seperator should do the trick for ya, works great on other cars haha
The ball joint seperator will only dislodge the joint from being stuck in the knuckle, no way its getting it out of the arm. I got my ball joints from the local NAPA for $95/set. I already have a special ball joint press, so I used that to press them in. I just recently replaced the entire front lower control arms with new oem ones from the dealer. Wasnt too bad, I got them at shop cost which is $108/each. Its worth it because you get a brand new rust free arm with new bushings and balljoint.
^^^ x2 on that. Controls arm is better to get them oem. Rust free and good quality. I replaced both on mine from the dealer.
Just wanted to give everyone an update whats going on with the car. It’s all done and put back together finaly.lol I started to crank the car last night and so far so good, but when I put the spark plugs in and connected the injectors the car cranked but did not start. It sounds like its mayyybe wants to start bc you can hear a Poof Poof like it wants to start. So now I gatta see if its either the spark plugs or injectors…im hopping its something easy and not a big problem. Also once again when I plug the Evo 8 ECU in the car doesn’t start just cranks, and when I switched back to stock ECU that’s when it seemed like it wanted to start. If you guys have advise please do share.
Timing? Or Immob, but you might have your evo ecu flashed for that already...
This is what happend last time when I put the Evo 8 ECU in and thought maybe it might be the Boomslang harness. So I sent it out for them to check it out and they sent it back to me, but it still does the same thing...cranks but no start. When I placed the stock ECU back I had a better chance starting the car. Do you think it might be the Boomslang harness again? I sent out my Evo 8 ECU to Aaron to take the immob off a while ago. Ill try to contact him and ask him about it. Tonight when I get home Im going to check to see if the spark plugs are firing with starter fluid and than take them out and see which one is working and which one is not. Im hoping its not the injectors that have the problem bc thats a bitch to see whats wrong since the fuel pump is working....shit is loud.lol For timing thats also a good guess hmmmmm. I honestly hate waiting here at work cuz all I wanna do is figure out the problem and get it started already but Im at work till 5...kill me.lol
