took the car on a long canyon drive for a mini socal3g meet. SOOOO fun but I need more grip. The road that we were on was pretty slick so I could hear the tires squealing on every corner and could feel how loose it was. Almost had some pretty scary slides haha
Sounds like fun. Time for stickier tires?
picked something up for Beam today:

not to mention they're too long! but nothing I can't fix.. I think (hahaha)
thanks again Emerson for picking them up, and I'm glad you found that bumper!
no problem bro, i was wanting to buy a Mugen lip instead but when i found out it was the same price i was like WHERE'S A BANK OF AMERICA?!?!?! lmao
Went for a short canyon drive today:

you wouldn't believe how many bugs there are stuck to my front bumper from recent driving LOL. probably over a hundred
sounds like fun
Nice, but when are you gonna paint that radiator support?! LOL! One day Im just gonna tag your radiator support with black paint, and it'll say "TGC wuz Heeeer!" LMAO!
oh shooot yeaaaaa about that... haha I'll do it this summer. I was tempted one day but i didn't feel like taking off my bumper that day LOL
as for sticky tires i just me some eagle gts and gotta say love them they hook lil noisy then my falkens but better grip there rated pretty well in tirerack.com and that where i got them
Just got back from my first year in college.. WOOOOOO
anyway, I'm gonna take a short little break to relax (I'm wayyy pooped after my recent finals and stuff), and then I'm hopefully get some small things done with the car:
remove Cruise Control unit and its accessories in the bay (I can't use it anymore anyway)
really really simple injector wire and vacuum hose tuck
etc.
then once I get some sort of income, it's on to the bigger stuff
I just gave the car a much needed bath, so pics tomorrow
time to work on those skirts now haha
Why can't you use cruise control anymore?
well I'm too lazy to do the extra wiring for it after the 5 speed swap lol
and yea Emerson I need to pick up those skirts from you soon! (and pay you of course haha)
50% interest compounded daily. you better hurry!!! lmao
well hmmmm maybe I'll just leave it in for the time being. When I swap in a MT ECU, I will be able to use it, correct?
so the paint on my grill finally cracked. So I decided to recoat it with some Plastidip and to paint the radiator support
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...h_IMG_1987.jpghttp://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...h_IMG_1992.jpghttp://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...h_IMG_1994.jpghttp://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...h_IMG_1998.jpghttp://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...h_IMG_2042.jpghttp://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...h_IMG_2044.jpg
oh and I didn't paint the lower/whole radiator support because I couldn't get the damn bumper off... stupid plastic screws
looks way better! And the bumper comes off with 6 bolts ;) 2 under each fender and 2 behind the grille on the radiator support.
what?! that's what I thought but then I saw all the plastic screws and they just wouldn't budge. So I don't even have to touch those plastic screws to remove it? If so, I'm removing the bumper and painting the entire rad support this weekend. I hate the rusty white behind the lower grill. Oh and I still have the PS cooling hose stuck behind the bumper
wait so I do or don't have to take out those plastic screws? There's like 6-8 on top of the bumper, then there are two underneath where the bottom opening is. I tried taking one of those out and it unscrewed like 1/2 turn then it just started stripping so I was like F*** This! haha
you don't have to mess with the plastic screws on top. They stay attached to the bumper support.
ahhh I just looked again and the plastic screws on the bottom attach to the crash bar.. and those were the ones where I gave up lol. Awkward position to unscrew them behind the lower grill. I'm just gonna forget painting the lower radiator support for the time being haha
you just need to remove the two bolts in the grille area, and 2 bolts that bolt to the fender on each side and it'll pop off along with the bumper cover bracket.
here's a pic of the supposed Galant Cyber (dunno if 1 or 2) skirts. They are wayy too big and hopefully the company that sold them will take them back tomorrow. They are definitely not Galant skirts, as I looked at other people's skirts and the shape is somewhat different. Not to mention that fact that these skirts BLOCK the door and are over 8 inches too long. There's no way a mold could be that messed up.

I'll have pics of my engine bay tomorrow :)
hey adrian...do you wanna go the cyber route? 619customs hit me up a few days ago asking if i knew anybody wanting the full kit. he's asking $100 for it. sold his car a while back
ehhhhh maybe. Does he have pics? I called the company that Emerson bought these skirts from, and they're letting me come in and trade them, so we'll see
i just left him a text to see if he can post pics for u. if he doesn't, and text's me back...i'll let you kow.
PM sent about the kit I have FS. Chris text me and told me to contact you. Still only asking for $100 for the complete kit.
I don't think I'm going to go the full Cyber route. I just picked up the same skirts that VegasMatt has, and I kind of want a cleaner, more OEM look
on another note, got myself some goodies over the MOD weekend:
another 3G GT strut tower bar
rear window visor
side skirts
and of course some MOD T-shirts and free goodies

For anyone wondering, I'm not sure what visor this is. I bought the last one from the place and it wasn't in the greatest condition. I know for sure that Sponcar had this visor on his 8G. This visor isn't the same "JDM" visor that's on ebay, and it's nowhere near close to the EGR. This thing has some thickness to it.
Looking good all dressed up! You'll have to get us some finished pics
I like that visor ALOT! almost more than my EGR!
