Yes make sure you can put the grenade pin back in. If you cant, it either has too much tension or not enough. Dont go by the slack in the belt, there will always be slack up top between the gears.
You know you have the right amount of pressure when you can pull the pin, rotate the assembly, let it sit for 15 min, and then put the pin back in.
I have always done my timing jobs by myself. Do what Shadow recommended and get the big clamp paper clips to hold the belt to the cam gears.

was going to put the engine in this weekend but i ran into some problems and have some more stuff to but. The car has been sitting so long we couldnt get it to move since the rear drums where locked up, got it to move and pushed it into the garage. Started to take things apart, and the driver side half shaft wouldnt come out so i beat the shit out of it till it came out but ruined the half shaft. From hitting that half shaft so hard i messed up that wheel bearing so i need to get a new one, One of my wheel studs broke so i need to get one of those. Had to order studs for the intake and exhaust they will be here on monday.
here is the list of parts that i need
2 lower balljoints
2 spindle assemblies
1 sway bar end link
Rotors
1 tie rod end
driver side half shaft
For the engine i need
a 1g CAS
water pipe for a 4g63
spark plugs
coil ignition system
spark plug wires
new motor mounts
For the transmission i only need shift linkage.
This shit just keeps adding up i dont want to know what my final total on the build will be especially after i get it painted and tuned.

Hey I made that at 4am. And if i could have the car at my house this shit would be done.
Got all my parts today EXCEPT the flywheel bolts that mitsubishi go where for a fucking automatic, they went off of my vin that i told them wasnt right after i gave them the transmission number that i got, so now i have to wait another week.
I installed my manual shifter and the cables today and thats about all i can do until i get the flywheel bolts.

I didnt get the engine in because the Mitsubishi dealer ordered the wrong flywheel bolts they got the ones for a a/t not the m/t so i couldnt get that shit in. The m/t ones will be here on thursday.
Seth i reused my stock rods and i forget what pistons i got they are just stockers though.
Got alot of work done today, engine and trans is actually sitting in the car for the first time in 4 months. Got some stuff to wrap up tomorrow and then she will be getting brought over to my house to be finished up in two weeks. Ill post pics tomorrow when i get home i have a lot of them to post up. So weird having a engine in my car again just want it to start though.

Dude i hope like hell you atleast thread locked those bolts on your pressure plate. There is supposed to be bolts with lock washers on them there for a reason... If not i wouldnt run that car but thats just me.

Got my turbo mounted up with the O2 housing, I have to cut and reweld my downpipe because when i put the megan cat back on I have to rotate a flange to match up with my highflow cat but now that it does not match up with my downpipe so more cutting and welding.
