Im trying to find a Outlander manifold, were there any 2003 Mivec Outlander's? If you know the answer just answer with a YES or NO, i know all the other necessary info.
I dont think so
idk if this is the rite place to ask but i have a 2000 g a/t and i did a tranny swap with a 03 a/t trans but im still getting codes and it shifts rough from 1st to 2nd and speedo isnt working i put a 2000 speed sensor on it. i was wondering if you guys can help me figure out prob
for those of us that have done engine swaps, anyone know the rear lifting point for the 6g7 engines? the front point is obvious, but I can't figure out which one of the brackets on the rear head for this is
also I have seen occasion pictures of this, is it possible to use a few super strong straps under the engine attached to the engine hoist to lift the engine?
The lifting bracket in back is in the opposite corner of the front. Some engines got a tab on the steel bracket behind the upper PS bracket.
Straps are a bad idea with the engine because the sharp ends all over it cut into them. However I have lifted all my engines with two-loop chain harness.
noted, although the heads are off the block right now (stripped down to the short block) and I know ahead of time the block is done (cracked), so any thoughts of hoisting the short block without putting the heads back on?
Cruz control went out today. What to do? Or what to check for?
It came back. Thanks for the help -____-'
This is the general question thread. There is a sub-forum elsewhere that is dedicated to car problems.
anybody know if the 04 4g64 valves are the same size on both sides?
The exhaust valves are never the same as intake.
Any recommendations on how to remove the sway bar link nuts? Mine keep spinning with the bolts
Just pop of the link itself, then cut them out
I've never changed end links, but aren't they like ball joints, where theres a cutout for an Allen key to go into the bolt to hold it still while you use a wrench to take the nut off? It's slower than cutting it out, but if you don't have power tools, it may be your only option.
Should have an allen socket in it however I have seen some without them (aftermarket reman). Good thing we had an impact to bust the off real quick.
wow, I just rounded the allen socket, my highschool auto shop teacher is reccomending nearly cutting the nut in half with a dremel, insert a flat head screw driver into the slot to hold it in place and take it off with a wrench
I'm not sure if I should do this
My allen ends on my end links rounded out when did mine a few years back also. At that point I only had a dremel but was able to use the cutting wheel to cut through the nut at the ends of the links.
Attempting to actually unbolt the endlinks isn't even a consideration anymore. If they're stock, they need cutting off.
Wiggle the endlink until it breaks off the ball end. If that doesn't work then hit the middle of the link with a hammer and it will pop off. Then use a vise grip to hold the ball and use a socket on the other side and unbolt it.
Hope this makes sense.
Someone is interested in my a/t tranny and is asking about the trans ecu?? don't really know if it exist or where is it or if I can get it out of the g without any adverse effect
Etacs ecu, and its under err to the right or behind the fuse box inside the dash. There is alot more stuff that goes through that ecu then just transmission stuff iirc
Would it be possible to use the dual fan setup on newer 8G's
On one that came with the single fan?

Should be no problem. It should be a fan connector on the main fan and clips to hold the wire
My concern is the single fan being variable speed and I imagine
The aux /condenser fan being single speed.

Should be no problem. The EU spec Gs 97-00 without AC has only 1 fan and the ones with AC got two. After 00 and to 03 models all came with both fans. And all of the models had the same unit mounted on the main fan and with a connector so u could mount another fan incase they wanted AC.
It should be the same radiator/fans/AC units that are one EU and JDM Gs. The only difference between em is a little higher displacement, looks on the outside/inside and a relocated battery.
For everyone who has done the 5-speed swap on the V6, how did you get the 2 bolts off the bracket on the passenger's side that holds the axle. I was able to remove one bolt but the other one is ridiculous to get loose because there is no room. I started to remove part of the exhaust but then it got too dark outside.
I used a wrench for the other one iirc
You can do both with a 3/8 ratchet and a shallow-well socket. Wrench goes above the axle but parallel with it, then you can use the axle as a grabbing point and hand crunch the thing. Takes a good bit of strength the first time around.
Thanks!
Who has Diamante TB? I need to know what's the inside diameter of it. I know its supposed to be 65mm , but i really wanna know the exact size. Im thinking of getting a throttle plate off one and sending my TB off to the machine shop to have it bored out.
Hey guys, so I have everything wire up, just waiting for my harness to use the evo ecu, just for shits and giggles I plugged the stock 99 auto ecu back into the car and tried to fire it up to see if it would start, lights would turn on the dashboard, but the car won't crank at all, any suggestions? I have evo injectors with the resistor pack wired in, I didn't touch the wiring the runs to the starter or anything of that nature. Any suggestions? battery is brand new. all the wires on the starter are tight, the relay/solenoid thingy for the starter in the fuse box makes a clicking noise when I turn the key, goes click click, but no starting, I'm getting stumped guys.
Maybe weak ground?
See if you get 12V at the main starter terminal and then 12V at the solenoid when you turn the key to starter position.
Pull the rail out and put it on a paper towel and crank it. See that the injectors are opening.
that's the thing, the car won't crank at all whatsoever.
I'm assuming a car won't run without a starter relay correct?

both the MT and AT starter relay slots on my car are completely empty... I haven't touched them ever, car always started and ran fine, I guess it's time to see if putting one in will make a difference.
Really cars don't need starters to run. Only to start. Starter can be removed and car can be started by hand if needed. I suspect someone bypassed the starter relay? Wouldn't make much sense to me why anyone would though. I would test those leads to see where they go before putting anything in them that may cause a short.

by run I meant start. car has been in my family since brand new, only thing I can think of is one of my friends playing a cruel joke and taking the relay out while I wans't looking.
Anybody know the size of the PCV hose?
