2.5"/1" Drop
Are there any springs out there to give a 2.5" front and 1" rear drop? I went out and measured the distance from the top of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel well and those were the distances for my perfect drop but I havent seen any springs like that. Also if I buy springs and a camber kit will the suspension work well for a while without new struts and shocks? I looking to spend about a grand and get a cheap set of 17"s and a drop.

I dont think you realize that the fenders on a galant are cut lower in the back than in the front. The front APPEARS to sit higher when in reality its sitting a slight bit lower. You would be better off going with a even drop, if you go that agressive of a difference, your handling is going to be all over the place. I suppose if you really want to do it, you could mix and match kits; say maybe the front springs from the Eibach sportline kit and the rear springs from the Eibach pro-kit. thats just my 2 cents.

im most interested in how it looks. I really want the wheels to sit perfectly in the wheel wells for the clean look.

The side skirt area will look like it's slanted forward...kinda looking weird if you ask me...but each to his own.

i personally wouldn't mix and match kits, because each has different spring rates. Plus the nose of your car is going to be bottoming out like crazy due to the fact that the raised rear is going to be pressing the nose closer to the ground.

if thats what you feel you want then i would get tien coilovers or something similar
i have tien s-techs and they cleared up that gap really nicely i can fit maybee 2 fingers in the gap but for me in new york that is perfect with these roads i think they are 1.8 front 1.5 rear or omething close to that
if you want a more agressive drop with springs just go with either the sportlines or megan springs and pair them with kyb agx's or something

get adjustable springs like cround control or get full coilovers; that way you drop the front and back at different heights... here's the way my car used to sit b4 the kit...

Pretty much what Reelax said. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, a set of coilovers will give you maximum flexibility to acheive the look you are going for. GCs are good for people on a budget, but what you don't pay for now, could become another expense later on...for example, with the GCs, you can use your existing shocks/struts assuming they're OEM. With a big drop, you'll wear those parts faster and more than likely need to replace them (completely depending on how you drive and road conditions) faster than normal, since its rare that the spring and damper are matched. The full coilover systems, have a matched spring and damper system that helps much better. Also looking at big drops will almost ensure that you need a camber kit, or go through tires at a much quicker rate. At the end of the day, even though you put out more money for the coilovers initially, it becomes a wash financially when you look at the other things that may be affected.

I like that drop. so those are ground gontrol springs? they are pretty expensive too. Im trying to got cheap rims, the drop (including camber), and a 4 channel amp for my car using $1200. I know thats a stretch but $700 for rims plus $200 for an amp leaves $300 for the drop. And its an I4 not a V6.

you could try teins for the front and eibach pro kit for the rear but thats going to be hard with $300. also if this is all you can spend on springs your going to be bouncing up and down cause your used struts and shocks wont keep up with the new springs.

reelax isn't dropped on ground control but tein ss coilovers.
but on a more serious note. speaking money wise, i wouldn't go with ground controls. i personally have ground controls and i love them.
but mine are different compared to almost everyone elses. first of all. 300 bucks isn't gonna even get you a nice ride with any sort of coilover, unless you get them used.
but yea, back to what i was talking about. lets say you do get ground control coilovers. what kinda shocks/struts are you gonna use? kyb?? seriously. i've been in cars with gc's and kyb's and the ride is horrible. at least horrible compared to my konis.
with that said. if you can afford gc's and konis then you can certainly afford teins.
why'd i go with the gc's and the koni shocks/struts? first of all, i got them used for hella cheap. secondly, when this setup was put together, teins weren't even released.

$135 for Progress camber kit
and ~$600 for the Rims
Thats $621 on the drop. Does that look like it would work well?

i wouldn't even consider the kyb gr2's or kyb in general with coilovers. first of all. kyb's are made for cars that are dropped no lower than 1.5". secondly, if you are going with ground control, you would want a shock/strut that has some sort of dampening control to them. this way you can adjust the ride so that you're not bouncing all around whenever there is an imperfection in the road.
and for arospeeds, a member threw his out into the atlantic ocean a few years ago. if you want a set, you can go fish it out.
