**20's** JUST GOT PICS***
-
First of all, this is likely going to rub if you ever want to lower your G, or I guess you will be happy as part of the dubs offroad galant club...second off, I actually think those will look ok on a G, 20 is awful huge though! Make sure to post pics when you get these on.

Just my opinion though. How much did you get them for and what tires are you going with?

well, a houston-galant member has got 20s on his galant and lowered on Tein Stech springs... so the "dropping" theory isnt right.. he probably rubs as bad as i do on my 18s.... maybe a little more but not as bad as many think...
-
I dont plan on lowering it, unless i have some room to slightly drop the front end. im goin with the nitto 225/35/20 tires. i should have em on in about 2 weeks, ill post some pics.

225 tires are too narrow for 8.5 rims....which will be the reason for rubbing...I've seen many people with 8.5 wide rims and a drop complain about some rubbing.
-
I saw some 20s on an older model domestic, the othere day. They looked pretty damn nice. Even though Im not the one for bling, most people probably would like them...just like most people like my car, despite the shape its in (ie dead paint on roof, several unfinished projects, ect ect) .
-
Where are you located. Down here us Tx boy like wheels like that on cars. If you are going for the luxury look you chose the right wheel.
Here is the pic of the h-town member with the dubs on his ride with the tein s-tech drop. Roughly an inch and a half drop, if I am not mistaken.

^^^^Yeah that is pretty damn ugly. He needs to keep that in the garage. Post the link to his page so I can better inspect this galant to see if it is really as bad as it looks in that pic.
-
the thing is most ppl ridin 20's are ridin 20x7.5
-
i know a guy out here that has those helo's on his Gride, they look ok but dont really match the lines of the car to well, they look to much like a benz. wheel. and our cars look better with a BMW style wheel on them.. but like i say go big or go home:P n/r i'm a fan of big chrome rims,
-
-
Too much bling... can't see.. I like em they definitley give your car the luxury look.
-
Id rather of spent the money on some Reebok Pumps....

Haha those things remind me of the shoes with the backetball pump on them everyone had in like fourth grade...there would be big pauses right in the middle of games for everyone to recharge https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/laugh.gif
For the wheels...not my style but if you like 'em, props to you! If you're not gonna drop the car...a kit might be good.

I think that style rim with that size looks too oafy on an 8g. They would fit a 300C or even a 9g, but the car just looks too fin for the rim.
-
Too much chrome for me, and too high of a ride (4x4 style) but if you like it then feels good about it. 20 inch strong!
-
I think they look good, but I would definately lower it though. Please believe me when I say the ride is a lot better lowered as opposed to the stock suspension. Also, I have 8.5' rims. I always have. I had 20' spinners that were 8.5' wide, 19x8.5, and now the black 20x8.5. Its funny how people try to tell you what you should do with your car that you are paying for. Its also funny how they tell you you will rub. Now, this is the 2nd time I have had 20's and I have little to no rub with a lowered car. As a matter of fact It barely rubbed when I had the stock suspension, but it rubbed more than it does now. It will rub if I hit a bump to hard or fast or if I turn a corner real fast. On the stock suspension, it will do all of the same things, but if you have to much weight in the trunk or back seat it will do the same. With my lowered suspension, I have had people in the back seat as well as luggage in the trunk and did not rub a bit. What I don't understand is how people say they have 18's and rub so bad that they have to get their fenders rolled or cut. I am glad I don't have that problem.
-
Nice man....Seen you on the road today while going to school shyts bling man...
-
Holy Hell thats looks like a Big Body Galant. Mad Props To You
-
You now officially have the slowest GTZ on the forum, those things have to weigh a ton!!! how wide are the tires? only 225?
-
Looks good man! just think about lowering it? 8)
-
The mix of luxury and sport just don't look right. I think it would look better if you got rid of the rear spoiler... and what in the world do you have on your tails?
-
I like them. Just can't afford them.
-
they look alright.. not my taste but if you like it, NICE!!! drop it! you got opinion of a 20" rider and yeah about that rubbing on 18s.. its my offset.. SHOULD BE i have 18X7.5 but NO IDEA what my offset is but im guessing it must be way off to make my tires rub.. the fender rolling is b/c car was dropped to low in rear that once camber went on id hit the fender... front already bent by themselves from daily driving, and rear just had to be done professionally...
-
People r just hating, I like it thats tight SJDGTZ, i wish i could afford them
-
Yo, you asked us what we thought. Well here is what I think. 20s look nasty on a Galant, especially the ones that hides the caliper so much. If it was'nt for the chrome, it would look as if you still had the stock wheels. I say leave the dubs for trucks. Chrome, thats a different story. Personally I hate the bling bling, but whatever floats your boat.
On the other hand, your G is very clean. You just need to get rid of those damn wheels.
-
thanks for the feedback, the wheels look a lot better in person. i like em, and for rubbing, there is none at all. i would like to lower it so they fit a little better, but i dont want to drop it too much. can anyone help me out with that, like opinions on how low, and what i should use/do to get it. thanks.

i just wanted to say, why everybody got to hate on this man? The are all just mad because you sitting on some grown mans and everybody else sitting on teenagers. Dude you car is on fire, Looks good, I luv dub's on a Galant. Keep doin what you doin. Like I said before in Tx, we ride big. Lower it and it will be set.
-
-
Looks good! Silver on chrome, mad props

This is a huge example of regional value, in TX and in the South EVERYONE is sittin on chrome, trying to ride 19" and above, and also trying to get spinners on anything possible. Look at the rap videos they are puttin out, every single one has someone throwing money around, half nekkid girls, and big ass rims. And 3/4 of those rappers are from the south. East Coast and West Coast people have taken the Galant as a performance coupe and try to make it as fast and light as possible, while the southern states see it as a luxury car which it was intended to be (wood grain trim, chrome grille, leather option, infinity sound system option etc) so they are putting the big chrome rims on it that are greatly valued in the south. If it were up to me I would have gotten my Galant, put some 18" chrome rims on it, dropped it and had tv's in the dash and headrests and a custom system and that would have been it. But its actually cheaper to make it look like how most of the east and west coast have theirs looking, which is the sporty look.
As for the rims, i think those are oogly as hell, no offense, but I know your motivation for getting them and you will reap some benefits from those
-
I take the good with the bad, i knew starting this thread and posting some pics id have people who wouldnt like it, and some who would, its cool. everyones got opinions and thats why i put it up in here. i love it, and have gotten around 50 compliments on it in the 2 days i've had my rims. let me know what u guys think i should do next, im savin some money up. how much is the air suspension?

no its not. my 19s are 8.5 wide and i have 225/35/19. how is that too narrow? if he went 235 or 245 then he would be sticking out and looking at some nasty rubbing. he may still be rub for the simple fact that they may be a bit bigger than stock and they happen to be 8.5 wide, but so far he says no rubbing. if i were to do it again, i would get some 8 in wide OR put some money into some flares or even a full wide body kit and keep the rims as wide as they are now or go wider but probably no more than 9 tho in the front. and 10 in the rear.
they are not exactly my cup of tea. nor my shot of whiskey, but do what you got to do.

:mg: i'm sorry but those pics almost made my breakfast come up...they just don't look right...unless you get a lift kit...they look wayyyyyy too big for the car....if you stacked 2 of them up, they would be taller than the car. it's your car tho, more power to you...but i would watch ya back...them things look like they would walk
-
Whoever said that we hating because we dont like the rims, need to fall back. I know I'm not hating cause I would never put 20' chrome rims on my car. Everyone is not into the same things, so everyone has different prefences.
