DOHCstunr: the winter look

Here's my winter look. amazing how you change two things and your car looks stock.
Well, doesn't look stock to me....
but to all my non-galant friends, or total strangers it does.
Rebirth of a sleepr.

JDM spoiler didn't look right with the 15's. so for the sake of funkshway:

sorry, car's a little dirty.

15's and an oem spoiler does change it alot

fyi, i didn't buy these tires, they came with the wheels. I've never heard of the brand, and that is why I so enjoy smoking the rubber off of them in 3rd gear.

Nice, those OZ lancer wheels would look really good in a larger size, too bad mitsu never sold them ina bigger size. Your car looks so much more tame without the rear wing.

i know ;),
in about two weeks i'll be sporting a different set of winter wheels that will permit the use of the other wing.
In all honesty..... I actually do feel that the car is less stable at highspeeds with the USDM spoiler.

the 15's make the big brakes look massive!
they only weigh 14 lbs.

Could be the fact that you have narrower tires with taller, softer sidewalls as well, I noticed a big difference between my 15 inch steelies and my evo wheels.

well thats definately part of it.
3rd gear is absolutely scary with the flexing sidewalls.
4th is pretty intense. 5th literally pulls as hard as 2nd 3rd or 4th..... but by then i'm going so fast, i think the sidewalls tighten up a bit.

You are right..the VR4 wing doesn't look right with 15's. Before I garaged -G-rim I took off my 18's and slapped the stock 15 inch LS/GS swirls and didn't look good.

Koolio pointed out about your sideskirt kinda seperating from the body towards the rear fender wheel. Did you retain the snap clip on the sideskirt or cut it off and just used generous amounts of 3M double sided tape to keep that part attached to the body?

Yeah just for winter sake.

I never had a choice when it came to the mouting of that portion of the sideskirt. when i bought those skirts from proto all the clips anywhere on it had already been broken off.

its 3m outdoor extreme duty mounting tape.
it only seperated because i drilled the holes ont he bottom side of the skirt too far out.
i need to redrill them and pull the skirt in on that end. then the tape will do its job.
on the black car i used the tape and it never seperated. always looked badass.


the drivers side is fine, no issues since i mounted them.

I see...when I got my sideskirts 1 sideskirt had most of the mounting tabs and clips, the other majority were missing. :shock:

I had cut the remaining tabs off and did the same thing you did. I have the same issue as you...that portion tends to seperate from the body especially its exposed to water for a prolong period of time. :mad: I am thinking of remounting the sideskirts someday and get it more perfect than it is now.

The white GS looks great man! Your car just really makes contiplate more and more of going back to 18's when I "upgrade" :cool:

they really are nice wheels. when they are clean they are so shiny. the offset "appears" weak, but its actually my camber is waaaay negative atm.
the camer kit i had on the Black GS was destroyed in the wreck. so i swore to myself I'd go all out when I did the correction on the white car by installing the aluminum SPC arms.
as for the rear... I have no excuse. Should have done that when i got the car.

I'm seriously about to drop about $3000 into the car in the next two months between wheels suspension upgrades/maintenance, engine and some electronics.

Yeah, DOHCbeatr is in the background of the first picture.
Just got some new tires put on it.
That cars runs sooooo damn smooth.
Its very zippy around town too. 127 hp 114ft/lbs and only weighs 2400 lbs. and 30mpg
a fun little car to say the least. its equipped better than most 7g galants.
front and rear swaybars, 4 wheel antilock disc, leather steering wheel and shift knob. DOHC mwahah.
made in mexico Mexican domestic market lol.
most every one on nthe road is a total POS, but this one is mechanically mint.

Just can't pick a date up in it.
