I'm getting another Mitsu wheel(take a guess https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ult/tongue.gif)
It should be a direct bolt on, yes? Same w/ the airbag hookup? And is there a possibility of poping the airbag if I install it wrong?

I would PM manybrews on this one Maz.
But uh, I think it should fit, if it doesn't that's ghey. EVO?? ya well.
I think there is something about airbag installation that requires some sort of professional or certification deal... can't remember though.
I was absolutley no help was I https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/laugh.gif
i haven't seen the new 9g wheel.
is there cruise control on it?
just remember to disconect your battery, as for the removal and install, its not hard at all, well as an 8gen swap, im not too sure about the 7th gen.
Hit up DJplay, he had to buy some type of adaptor. As with the Evo wheel, it may fit, 2g eclipse wheels should bolt on
be careful you dont want it popping out when your on a freeway... :?
let us know what manybrews says about it....i want a new one too.... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/laugh.gif
I just immagined Maz installing this thing in his driveway and it suddenly deploys....I had to laugh, but that would freaking hurt....make sure to take lots of pics.
i remember reading it somewhere. i think it was evolutionm or club mitsuph. and the answer is no. not all mitsu steering wheels will fit all mitsu's. is there a specific steering wheel you looking at?
Here's a pic of the back:

I want one....
i bought a Momo, off an 8gen, havent tried it on yet, but was told when removing the steerwheel, it isnt all that hard, but you WILL ne to buy an apator, forgot what its called, but it goes inbetween the steering wheel and steering wheel collum
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(manybrews)</div><div class='quotemain'>havent got a clue, really..
no ones even tried, as far as I know.
there wont be any real type of "certification" as far as I know, as I doubt very much the airbag systems are compatable in anyway. Â*in fact, I suspect trying to combine the two would be extraordinarily dangerous. Â*
I have no idea if the capacitance of the two bag systems is the same. Â* Just plugging the evo bag into the galant system may cause it to fire off.</div>
Oh shit?
ohh, well you see i didnt have that problem, b-cuz the wheel which i bought was a regular SW without a airbag system. but good luck, and go bless.
R.I.P. Maz
REALLY sorry about the 3+ year bump, but I just bought an aftermarket steering wheel. I want to know what's involved in installing it and exactly what is this 'adaptor' I need. My father kept saying I need a 'steering wheel puller' to uninstall the current one or something like that.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

There's pics if it helps.
Yeah chris you will need a steering wheel puller. You can get one at most decent autoparts stores. THink mine ran 20 or 25 bucks when I bought it. It might be called a harmonic balancer remover too. As for the adaptor as other people have said I know you'd need one for an 8g but as for a 7g I really don't know who makes one or which one would fit.
Bah....
Bad news, again... :x
I was hoping to hear "Yeah, just unbolt and bolt the new one on!!" but that's never the case, is it? https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ult/tongue.gif

but then again bolting parts that belong on a nissan never was easy to bolt onto a mitsu.
Yah, why do you want a Nissan steering whel in your Galant?
I kndasorta didn't know Nismo was Nissan...
This is a generic steering wheel that's supposed to be universal. I thought Nismo was just a brand, until I got it today and looked at the fine lettering under the 'Nismo' logo...
It says 'Nissan Racing' or something like that. Ugh...
I like the steering wheel a lot though. Maybe I'll cover it with something that says Mitsubishi. It's work-with-able.
I want to get the damn thing on, though. Anywhere I can pick up this 'adaptor'?
ebay is your friend.
Sure is! Yet, when it doesn't have what I'm looking for, it's a different story...

How does that look? Would that fit?
You should get this steering wheel, and sell the Nismo one to someone with a Nissan https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/laugh.gif https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/laugh.gif
Does Anybody have this Steerign wheel installed? if so... Got pics?

Anyone know if that will fit the 7G?
i had planned on replacing mine but i was told that i would not only lose the cruise control stick, i could also be ticketed for removing it in the first place. does anybody know if that is true or not. it might only be in the state of FL but the rules here normally arent strict
removing the factory safety device would be illegal. to tell you the truth your insurance company could drop you if they found out.
Wait, having an aftermarket steering wheel is illegal?????? Meaning, one WITHOUT an airbag? That doesn't make sense, because how many older cars don't have airbags factory...
thats factory. if its equipped with the airbag then it has to remain. if not consider paying more for insurance IMO.Quote:

its like the law with seatbeatls.. u need to have one.. if it dooesnt have one.. u gotta get one put in..
unless its an old hotrod which in this case.. its not..
I mean, who really pays attention to these...what are they called....Laws?? Pshh, just some fancy made up words if you ask me.
you can default your policy with some insurance places if you remove the airbags. They might tell you you aren't covered for diddly when the adjuster shows up and sees a wheel without an airbag. better check before you switch.
