and this has nothing to do with Turbos, SuperChargers & Nitrous. Moving to the proper forum.
do a search for 5 spd swap or manual transmission u'll find everything u need to kno
but heres a ruff list
tranny, shifter, shifter cables, master and slave cylinders, clutch pedal, brake pedal, clutch, flywheel.... i think thats it...like i said do a search u will find the answers...i did the swap about almost a month ago...its not THAT bad at all...but dont get it twisted...it is alot of work
no to mention the installation cost
If you want to go cheap, find a manual tranny from a:
3G V6 Eclipse (6G72)
2003-4 Dodge Stratus V6 (6G72) Coupe
Dodge Stealth/Avenger
3000GT
Your best chances are from the Eclipse since it's recent but you may try the Stratus Coupe if you are fortunate to find one. Repair cost? Ask the ones who actually atempted on one.
do it yerself and save 1k :?Quote:

yup it took us 1 day and a half and that was bsing, plus we need a hole say to cut thru the firewall....if we had that the 1st day it would have been done
hey shane u dont need any wire splcers bro
i had to use splicers, to get my reverse lights to work...Quote:

WOW, I would love to do this, this would help out with speed (a lot) right.?
How much would all the parts cost..If this didnt cost that much I would really consider in keeping my G and getting a turbo
if there is anyone in the Utah area that could do this swap, u should contact me $$$
a manual swap doesn't necessarily make your car faster. what it allows you to do is have more control of the tranny. so lets say u suck at driving stick, then your car will be slower cuz u suck. but if you're good at it, you can take advantage.Quote:

yo shane...quit b/s 'n and get a nigg the diagram for the reverse lights...i almost got hit like twice hahhaahahaha
To find the parts, go to www.car-part.com and look up a 3G Eclipse. It'll give you a list of salvage yards and from there, you basically do a scavenger hunt. Dont worry about going out of state to get the parts. stewi (Vtec Killer on GF) got 2 setups for something over $1000. I cant remember the exact price, but it was a real good deal.
Any pictures of the swap? During the install, after the install? One of the biggest things that annoy me about my GTZ is the Auto Tranny. I thought I would get used to it, but it hasn't happened yet.
no one had done a v6 yet., but i have a few pics on my cardomain page...there are more but i been too busy to get em up :oops:Quote:

it depends where your'e getting the 4g63t from. if you're getting it from the newer evos than you use the 3g eclipse. if you're getting it from the eclipse, 6g galant or the older evo's then u get the 2g tranny.Quote:

wut about this 1
nope, because more than likely the tranny that comes with that is AWD, you probably want a 5spd tranny wit FWD, unless you are doing an AWD conversion (which is quite pricey)
that and thats an older 4g63 which means its reverse rotation comapred to ones of the newer 4g63's. it'll work but it will also mean you'd pretty much have to start from scratch to put that bad boy in. if you put the newer ones in, they'll bolt in much more easier. what you want to look for is an evo 4+ motor
yea, when i do my 4g63T swap, i'm takin the whole sucker apart, putting performance pistons, crank, and rods because i will be turboing the shit outta it https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...lt/biggrin.gif
in other words pay the extra 2500 and get this !
http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/viewengin.asp?id=44
w/o the transmission, because that tranny is going to be AWD.
the tranny that i'm getting for my 4g63T will be an eclipse FWD manual.
something more along the lines of
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33615
see thats wut i was planing is just the engine with everything but the tranny and get the eclipse 5 spd and before i do the swap get new rods pistons cams so on so on
yea, higher compression pistons and stronger cams and rods.
For a V6, is there any welding involved? Or are all the transmission mounts the same as automatic?

shouldn't be a problem because you will get the tranny from the eclipse GT (v6 uses same 6G72 engine as yours)
but i'm no mechanic.
this weekend ima be going to check out the trannys from that webiste car-part.com listed by me 8)
That will not fit into your car.Quote:

this should fit, you just need to get a different tranny for it
http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/viewengin.asp?id=66
you need to find a FWD 5-speed manual. probably from an old eclipse wit a 4g63.
yes that motor from the motor distributor will work, now the one someone posted off ebay...that one wont...sorry
u guy need to stop playing with my head
