Independent foglight switch with dash indicator
I just finished wiring up my foglights to an indepent switch and I still have indicator functionality.
I had my foglights wired up to the parking lights since last year and I got bored with that look, so I decided to change it up a little. I also took off the bright corner mod.
This was very simple. Ok, there are 3 wires coming from the foglight relay. 1 white and 2 red. I cut the white wire (this should be the ground) in half. Now you have 2 white wires. The half of the wire thats going up to the fuse box is the one we will be working with. Strip the end and run it thru the firewall under the dash. (the wire is short but I just got a longer piece of wire and extended it)
Get a 2 pronged switch and connect 1 prong to the wire thats coming in thru the firewall and then connect the next prong a ground wire. (I just tapped the ground wire for the cigarette lighter.
Now you have the ability to turn on your foglight using the new switch and the dash indicator will still work. There is no need for the car to be running or any of the lights on for this to work.

so with this mod, there's a chance i can leave my fog on and potentially drain my battery?

Yup, thats the case. I'm gonna change the switch to one that lights up when the car starts, so I wont forget. But you can always check the indicator lights when leaving the car.

that or you can always run a relay to automatically shut down the circuit when the car shuts down.

How would I hook up the relay?
