Did they ever make a v-6 7th gen usdm?
nope. all usdm 7th gens came with the 4g64. all the models had a SOHC head with the exception of the GS that came with a DOHC head.
came with a 4g64 dohc?Quote:

Yes sir. 4g64 DOHC, 7bolt block. 4wheel disc breaks, special interior seat covering/steering wheel coverings. Thats about it, Im sure theres more small differences between GS and non-GS 7gs. Just ask DOHCstunr.
JDM 7gs had a 6a12 v6 and the VR4s came with a twin turbo 6a12 v6. But no USDM 7g came with a v6. All either 4g64 SOHC or DOHC
7G GS has rear sway bar, all others do not
GS has:
- Electric Antanna
- Radio Antanna Built in Rear Glass
- Tilt Headrest
- All Electric Everything
- Special Cloth Seats
- Leather Steering wheel/Shift Knob
- 12MM Rear Sway Bay
- 60MM Throttle Body
- DOHC 4G64 2.4L
- 2.25 Exhaust Piping
- Chrome Tips on Muffler
- Dash pocket to hold cd cases
- Sunroof
- Some type of hide away thing in the trunk
- The little triangle reflector for breakdowns
- Stock Alloys
- Keyless Entry
- 6 Disc Changer (I think)
- Some other misc shit
believe it or not, there was SUPPOST to be a 2.5 liter V6. The engineering was done, it was pretty much ready to go.
but they opted out of it. Ive heard various reasons, but it seemed to be primarily financial.
the Dodge versions of the galant chassis (avenger, stratus, etc) DID in fact use the 2.5 V6. frankly, it wasnt really an improvement over the 2.4 4 cylinder.
Actually in Europe there was a 7G with the 2.5 6g73 DOHC engine, but yeah it's not worth to put money into IMHO. At the same time I suspect those Galants would swallow a 6g72TT nicely https://www.thegalantcenter.org/styl...ault/smile.gif And those biatches are AWD tooQuote:

does anyone have an gs here?
seems like that's the only galant that they actually put something in it, not leaving it with crappy parts like other models (except vr4)
Proto, DOHCstuner, and a few others have 94 GS
Uhh, my Galant has a V8 what are you talking about...

uh-huh
@seth
so galant gs engine should fit in es without problems then...unless the tranny is on the other side?

same trans as the SOHC 4G64. DOHCtuner could tell you specs though.
Does the Sebring use a Galant engine and chassis? I ask because I drove my friend's Sebring the other day (it has a V6 Mitsubishi engine in it) and that shit SO SLOW. I tried shifting through his gears like I do with my car and there was no where NEAR as much pull as mine dishes out.
Why?
see it for yourself: http://www.carstyling.hu/car_shower.php?id=8747
I know this guy, and yes it's a 6g73 2.5 V6 His cousin has a 3000 VR4, and you would be surprised how simular are the two engines when they park them side by side. It's def. close to a 6g72.
Ohh, and NiTrOuSoXiDe that thing got a HEMI?

and that's the 2.5 6g73 SOHC engine
Is that a POS engine or is it just like, a heavy car or something?

i thought that was a chrysler engine... the same 2.5 in the stratus/cirrus sedans and sebring convertible. my owner's manual has specs, capacities, and info for the 4G64 SOHC and the 2.5 SOHC V6. thats how i found out about the engine deal...

nope. the engine was from mitsu. using chrysler fuel injection and transmissions.
the whole 94 to 99 eclipse/galant/sebring/avenger platform was a mess of different parts.
the eclipse got either a mitsu engine with mitsu trans, or a chrysler engine with chrysler trans.
the galant only got mitsu parts (although if they had actually recieved the V6, they would have had chrysler trannies and injection).
the avengers/sebrings got mostly chrysler engines and trannies, but all the 2.5 V6's were actually mitsu engines (albiet fueled by chrysler injection).
