What strut tower bars are you guys using in your 7g's?
 DUCK!
ok don't see why it seem like a big deal why I asked the question. I'm just tired of hearing creaking noise from what it seems like body flex and wanted to tighten things up. I've tried to search for companies that make them but had no luck. Let me guess by saying I might be able to use 2g eclipse strut bars since it seems like we share everything else with them.
4G63 equipped 2g and 2g Eclipse Spyders strut bars will work on 7g's. The 420a equipped 2g's strut bars wont fit right due to the configuration of the 420A.
well ive gotta JDM VR4 strut bar.rare to come across and fit my 96 S like a charm.a huge difference between one youd find on ebay.heavy as hell too.im not really a big guy but not even my 320lb friend bouncing on it could bend it at all.

wanna do some research on one... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/viewt...t=jdm+strut+bar
bezzle the only reason you got one was because of me. the first usdm with one. thank you very much!
after i installed my rear 18mm sway bar, i felt a huge difference when i REMOVED my front upper strut bar. the chasis twists and bends to let the tires grab the road more. before it was too stiff and the tires would slide since they couldn't contort as neccessary. unless you're running 18x10 wheels or something rediculous i think it will hurt your handling
i wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those strut bars myself. any help where to get one? PM me PLEASE!!!!

use anything from a 95-99 eclipse, and also there are few lower tie bars that u can get on ebay here is for the rear..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-98-MITS-...sspagenameZWDVW
for the front u can use from 95-99 eclipse as well as for the rear
from what ive heard, rear lowers for us are pointless, theyre more of a means of show.ill probably get one anyway.lol so i suggest get the front upper than the 17mm or 18mm sway bars
Hi! I'm from the Philippines and would like to ask if we have same hole distance for mounting of the front strutbar? Do you think I can also use the 8g vr4 bar? thanks!
Nice! Thanks 4-G-rim!
I just installed mine...I will be posting updated pics of my 7g in the Members ride section
Kev let us know how well it works...I have a lot of flex as well and I need to do something about it fast!
which is better the 8g jdm vr4 strutbar or Cusco strutbar?I will use it for my 7g. I'm confused I can get both at fair price.thanks!
8g VR4. It bolts behind the strut tower and the strut tower. It's a heavy duty construction with good welds. You notice a big difference compared to others.
Like what Proto said..the construciton of the OEM Mitsubishi 8g VR4 strut bar is superior quality compared to the ones I have owned. It does bolt to the strut plate bolts and the rear upper control arm bolt. I noticed a difference in handling with the 8g oem strut bar...definitely a better bar and looks sweet too. The only thing is maybe because I don't have the DOHC hood, but the regular SOHC hood hits the bar just a bit and takes a little effort to close the hood.
AH! good to know
It takes a little effort to close the hood and u notice the slightest hump from it. Its nothing major at all, i do have a really light imprint on the under hood cover.
Just to chime in..... the only reason my motor wasn't crushed in between the frame from that wreck.... was because of the strut bar.
a lot of welds broke in the chassis, a lot of metal was bent. but the strut bar saved the gap enough that i coudl still yank that engine.
i can garuntee if i didn't have that vr4 brace, my car wouldl have looked a whole lot worse
With that said, that bar is one of my favorite suspension pieces i have.
My favorite by far is the ralliart underbrace, but unless you are looking under the car.... you don't see it.
I just love the way the vr4 brace says mitsubishi on it. Really sets off the engine bay.
YO DOHC where did you get your underbrace from? I know you were the pioneer of this piece and don't know of anyone else that uses it but figured it got mashed up in your previous acident... If you don't mind could you point me in the direction of where to get one?
IIRC he got it off ebay. It's extremely hard to find and I don't believe anyone else has found another one. It's made for the JDM 8g VR-4 so if you can find a way to have it imported from ralliart in japan the more power to you.
Just order one from Ralli Art, it's not that difficult

bros i have placed the vr4 strutbar on my 7g but it created a slight hump on the hood. its a bit noticeable when looking sideways at the hood. what about yours?
do i need to lift the car when putting the strutbar? o just place it with the car standing? i noticed when i put the 3rd bolt its not centered in the hole. do i need wheel alignment now? which is right? thanks!
Thanks GOKU, I will llook into that...
Mine didn't create a hump..but my hoods sits just a tiny bit higher than previous and closing the hood requires a bit more effort.Quote:

Its actually best to have the car sitting than lifted up when installing the strut bar. You are talking about the upper front strut bar right? Can you post a picture of the "3rd bolt not centered"?Quote:

I have the Dohc hump on my hood and the VR4 STB. It does fit against the strut bar when closed, but i doubt there is a way of avoiding it. you can adjust the rubber stops for when the hood is shut. i think they will push the hood up some to help relieve some stress from the STB.
I don't :P
I haven't got one, as I'm doing some mods which may not allow it to fit.
As for ordering one, you can contact Ralli Art Directly, or talk to Trig, I'm sure he could sort you one easy enough.
Also, Cusco make one too, so that will make things easier :)

Okay, I have bad news......
The Ralli Art Under brace is no longer in production......
However, the Cusco one is available from Autobacs for you guys in the states, they are very good cusco dealers.
Any pic on this item?
