Thanks, I was just wondering. I'm having trouble finding any decent 400w rms amps under $150. I dont know why, my last amp was a brand new kenwood 500w class d that I got for only $120. Shouldve kept it.

Hey what do you think of this?

Seems to be what I need, 400w rms @ 4 ohms bridged. Its cheap and last time I check hi-fonics was a good brand. Yes no?
Just found this class d which is 400w @ 1 ohm. Never heard of audio pipe

What do you think? Heres the specs of the sub I got
http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-CompVR-.../ref=de_a_smtd
I could be mistaking, but i think i was at a "outlet" type store and they had some hifonics stuff but my one friend said it was crappy. He's pretty knowledgeable about car stereos so i took his word for it
Well I ordered the hifonics one since it was cheaper and it's what I need. It should perform up to par.
I have heard good things about hifonics and are supposed to do rated power, and yeah that amp from the specs looks perfect. You run it bridged and wire it to a 4ohm total like the diagram on the link you posted.
Thanks I feel a bit better about the purchase. I heard the low end hifonics were average and "not bad for the price" and all I'm looking for is something to power that sub to its rated specs and don't need room for upgrading as I only plan on running that one sub. Cant you test the output of the amp with a volt meter to see if it runs at the advertised spec? I have a $3 multi meter from harbor frieght but I doubt it could read 400w.
I dont know anything about measuring the watts, also read some of the reviews for that amp on sonicelectronix and they are all good, so you should be good to go, also which sub did you bought i dont think you have mentioned it.
Hifonics is decent, you should be pleased. Sorry I wasn't around to help but it looks like OMEGA took care of ya

It's that one. In a way I'm glad I had to buy a new amp because I was iffy about using that $40 kicker I got on craigslist. Thanks for the help.
So I placed the order for the amp from gooddeals18.com and I waited 3 days for it to ship and I finally get an email saying the order was canceled because the item is out of stock but if I go to the website it's still showing its in stock and ready to order. DONT order from this site their customer service is non-existent.
Its pretty hard to find this amp. Can anyone help me find an inexpensive amp thats 400w rms x 1 @ 4 ohm?
Real quick is audiobahn a good amp? This seems to match up perfectly with my sub

Audiobahn makes good amps. Ive had their subs, and a few of their amps, never really had any problems.
If you want, you can check out the car audio section at:
www.frys.com
they normally have good prices.
I actually just found out audiobahn went out of business. All the guys on the steve meade forums say to not get the audiobahn. I think I'm going to go with this audiopipe http://www.caraudiodeals.com/audiopi...1d-p-1450.html
I'll call them in the morning just to make sure they have it.
