I was checking up my oil thickness when I noticed lots rust forming underneath the hood when lifted.
Is there a way for saving my hood? Or should I visit the chop shop for a new hood.
Thanks for any info.

just get a new hood....probably easier
If hoods are expensive where you are and the hood only has surface rust, consider Bill Hirsch Miracle paint (http://www.hirschauto.com/products.asp?dept=3) or POR 15 (http://www.por15.com/POR-15-Rust-Pre...nt/products/1/). These are rust conversion paints. They tend to be expensive ($20+ per pint) and have to be top coated as they are sensitive to UV light. I have used them for years and they work well to seal and stop rust.
If you can't find a reasonablely priced hood I have one off a grey 1995 ES I am parting out that is clean and straight. Shipping would be a problem depending where you are located. I am in Helena MT. If you are within driving distance I'll make you a good deal on it. PM m if interested.
Thanks for the miracle paint recommendation, I'll try to look of what is being offered here on my locale.Quote:

I would love your hood but problem is I'm short before the holidays as Xmas bonuses are still far-off and shipping I can't afford right now as I am in the Pacific islands.
For them chop shop, I'll try to barter instead of what goods I can trade in for a hood.
