Steering wheel knock

As the title says mainly at a stop or if the car shut off rocking the steering wheel rapidly back and forth produces a unhealthy knock. Also noticed sometimes turning to the left more than right a single knock can be felt through the steering wheel. Even with the window down on the driver side and reaching up rocking the steering wheel and watching the tire the tire is vibrating. 😳 This is an 03 Galant with a 2.4. When driving steering still feels tight and responsive and returns to center. Fluid is up to level and doesn't smell burnt. Thoughts? All input is much appreciated.
