Well, ya gotta keep in mind the Evo isn't really made for going fast in a straight line. It's designed more with twisty mountain roads in mind. AWD and all the TCS and what not for handling really hurts straight acceleration. The Lancer Evo isn't the end-all-beat-all of performance and there's always gonna be competition. But few will argue that it is one of the most awesome and well-rounded cars on the road today.
