FYI: Throttle Position Sensor has a Profound Affect on an Auto-Transmission

In relation to the Thread, https://www.thegalantcenter.org/show...shifts-weirdly, I started about 1 month ago.

The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) that I had installed (listed in the above mentioned Thread) was obviously too low quality. It caused the Transmission to act completely screwed up to the point the car was not driveable. That TPS was a $12 Catinbow I bought on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Catinbow-Thro...ype=automotive

3 Days ago I replaced that Catinbow TPS with a $54 Beck/Arnley TPS, https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...sn=344&jsn=344, I bought from RockAuto.com

The Difference between those 2 TPS is Night and Day. The Catinbow did not work at all, this Beck/Arnley operates Perfectly. In fact this Beck/Arnley works so well this Galant runs better, much better, then it ever has since I bought it 45k Miles ago.
With this Beck/Arnley TPS installed the Trans now shifts butter-smooth and seamless, the Engine now accelerates much better as well.

TPS can sell for well over $100, but I did not want to spend that much on such an Old/High Mileage Car.

If your in need of a TPS for your Galant do not buy an Ultra $Cheapie, I highly support that Beck/Arnley TPS from RockAuto (For well less then $100 it works like a charm)

FYI. The TPS for my Galant is slightly adjustable. With it's elongated screw holes it can be turned left or right a little bit. When I installed this Beck/Arnley TPS I turned it as far as it would go "Clock-Wise". I do not know if that's the correct adjustment or not, but it works perfectly that way so I've left it there.
