So i have an 02 galant and since the 02-03 have differnt wiring than the older g's in order to do the swap do i need to get an 02-05 eclipse for parts or would an older eclipse work? please help me out. Sorry if this is answered in another threa. TIA

Looks like the earliest direct swap is from 2002+ eclipse, on the other hand you can also use the transmission from 2003-2005 Dodge stratus and Chrysler sebring. Use car-part.com to see the list for yourself. This is for the 2.4, I didn't search the 3.0.
Yes, some changes in 2002 happened so an eclipse from 2002 - 2005 will be the easiest since you have a 8Gb
