20s ON A 8TH GENERATION GALANT
Since people have PM me to death on this issue, I decided to make a post in this section for the subject.
If you have a 1999-2003 Galant, you can fit 20z on it. You can also lower it with little to no issues.
I have always used a 20x8.5" rim with a high offset. You can use a 20x7.5" rim, but I have seen some people have issues with it rubbing the rear strut tower and sometimes throwing the rear camber off a bit.
The tires to get are 225/35/20 for the best comfort or you can get the 225/30/20, but this tire is a little slimmer than the 35 series tire.
I did not have to roll my fenders or cut anything to make the rims/tires fit confortably on my car. If you look at my cardomain page, you can see what I am talking about. There are pics there at factory height as well as after I lowered it.
When I lowered it, I used the Tein Springs and went with the KYB AGX Adjustable Struts. There are other types of springs and struts that may or may not work, but this setup is what I used and it works great for me.
I do not have any rubbing issues what so ever. I had 3 full sized people in the back and one other person in the front and the only time it rubbed was when I turned a corner to fast and even then the rubbing was very very minimal, this was after it was lowered though. Now at stock height, it rubbed a little bit more. If I had to much weight in the back or trunk and it was not evenly balanced, it rubbed a little more, but again, it was minimal.
