I'm swapped if u need a hand.
You got it, thats why i want to do it for fun and performance. Im being sincere, I really dont know how to do it but I guess I'll learn something here. Im curious and hopefully this year I'll do it. :)
WG, thanks man! Im gonna start saving for anything that needs to be spent on.
Yea I have a thread on here with all the parts I needed along with prices and where I got it from.
What happened to the pictures from the 1st page? looks broken, is it just me or true for everyone?
pics are broken. Any one know which shifter bushings fit? For the cables and the base? do i need to get for the 2g eclipse or is there a specific one for the 3g? Thanks
I'll fix it...
hey are you still running the act 2100? how is it holding up with the turbo? Im thinking about getting it because the last eclipse i drove had it and it felt good.
Its running goood
I have a question is any one running with out a pilot bearing? any problems? because the sonata flywheel center is too small for the stock pilot and i know its the same with a 2g flywheel.
dealer only will sell the pilot bearing to me with the flywheel.
Just wanted to say thank you for making this thread and my swap a little easier.
hey goosey can you show us a pic of the engine bay. Also where are those earls fittings and ss clutch line going ?? im gonna start gathering parts again for my swap but i want to see what im missing in the engine bay..
btw for that left bolt a swivel end ratcheting 12mm wrench works great took me 5mins to get it off.
Question.... and I hope Galante doesnt mind me stealing this picture from his build thread but what it the round spacer for the fly wheel used for?http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...1/IMG_0407.jpg
I was looking through pictures of my 5 speed swap and I dont remember putting that disk spacer on....
I know your question is pretty old, but I don't think that specific spacer is as important. The more important one is the one that has the hole that's is about 1/2" diameter, for the clutch alignment tool. This ring just goes beneath that.
The order of parts is->
engine
flywheel
spacer with big hole
spacer with clutch alignment hole
bolts
... at least I'm pretty sure that's it. Too lazy to look through the FSM right now lol
pic revival plz
does my computer suck or do the pics not work anymore?? lol
Just fyi the 5 speed trans we have use GL4 liquid and the syncromesh is GL5. With gl5 i notice the shifter is a lot more notchy, I changed to royal purple 75 90 which is GL4 and the shifting is much smoother than with any of the other liquids. I could not find oem as they dont sell them around here anywhere.
Redline MT-90 should be safe as well. It's a GL-4 75w-90
