    well, i'd figure that since the kit comes with the ripp headers (i think it does, doesn't it?) that those would replace the 2 precats (on a v6) and thereby make it illegal, or am i wrong? do the headers not come with downpipes?

    okay, well since nobody seems to know, i e-mailed ripp mods about the CARB legality of the SDS system, and here's the response that i got:

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>No the system has never been CARB certified, but it does not seem to Â*
    affect the sales of the units... there are over 20 kits scattered all Â*
    over the Cali area... Â*

    The system runs real clean, so clean it passed NYS emissions on its Â*
    own... so it's hard to say how it would affect you. Â*

    All we can offer is the system can be removed real easy, and the Â*
    electronics set back to zero. Quickly... some times it's the things you do to Â*
    have fun!

    Â*
    </div>

    so basically, not even ripp mods knows whether it would pass an emissions test... somebody on this site has got to have one in cali, or maybe know somebody who does.. any info is appreciated.
