    2000 ES faster than 1999 GTZ...wtf

checking the car stats of a 2000 ES and a 1999 GTZ at car-stats.com, i get confronted with this...what the hell?

Car-Stats.com Report for 1999 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ
    Obtained from C&D December, 1998
    0-60: 9.1

Car-Stats.com Report for 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ES
    Obtained from C&D September, 1999
    0-60: 8.6

the quarter mile time is slower too for the GTZ....

    hmm here's some interesting data

    2k3 ESV6 3252lbs
    2k ESV6 3252 lbs
    99 ESV6 3140 lbs

    2k3 GTZ 3296lbs
    2k GTZ 3263 lbs
    99 GTZ 3165 lbs

yup 113 lb difference. what a difference all those options make.

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

How the fuck do you count?

Peanotation's post compared a 1999 GTZ (3165 pounds) to a 2000 ES (3252 pounds) The way I calculate it that makes the GTZ lighter by 87 pounds. So what the fuck do options have to do with anything? In this case the heavier car was faster. No conclusion as to why. And if you compare model year by model year there's no 113 pound difference in the lot.

Ah well another addition to your post count, regardless of the accuracy of the information.

yes but if the 2k 8g is heavier, how is it faster? I don't think those stats are accurate. When I tested my 0-60 (old fashioned stop watch), I was well in the 8 second range. Maybe they mixed the i4 stats w/ the v6s.

Only thing that i can think of is that the 99 GTZ is cal spec and the 00 ESv6 is fed spec.
Anybody know if the EPU mapping changed from 99 to 00?
