you can fully engage the clutch, and then let off the throttle so ur just coasting with idle power, or you can just push the clutch completely in and coast with no gear engaged. you shouldn't be riding it though. just go real slow, and once the clutch is engage, let off the gas completely. its hard to explain in words, but its pretty easy.

yea but thats assuming that you have some forward speed, some momentum
in stop and go traffic, at some point, you have to come to a complete stop
and then start up again, and then stop and start up again
i guess wut im really askin is how do i take off from a complete stop without riding the clutch

the exact same way you take off from a complete stop in normal city driving at a red light. you'll obviously have to put a little more room in front of you than an automatic would need, since an automatic needs no room. just drive it like normal, and once you get the clutch fully engaged, let up off the gas completely, and coast a little bit by pushing the clutch completely back in and letting the car ride with no gear engaged.

Well, if you dont want to ride the clutch then dont! haha. Use less clutch, you can mess around with it and figure out how much clutch/gas combo to give before you kill it. A lot of beginners ride the clutch. Its just something you ahve to figure out on your own.

Like clutch pedal is in, your at a stop and you have it in first gear. If you are rolling back a bit let out the clutch untill you stop. If it starts to die, give it a little gas till it sounds ok. As the light turns green, just let out the clutch and give it gas at the same time...

I would suggest that you go somewhere and just practice. U definetly want to practice for the hills becuase its definettly embarassing when u got a girl in the ride and u can take off properly on the hill

Well...if I am in stop and go traffic I just wait till there like a full car length of distance between me and the car ahead of me and i'll put it in gear and close the space between me and the car ahead of me. Times like that I miss A/T trannies. 8)

M/T were designed pre-traffic, therefore you just gotta do your best.

Personally, in that situation I usually just the clutch like a MOFO
