    Rough Rider (Bad Idle)

Just last week, my car started vibrating slightly on startup. I then noticed that when I turned it off, it did the same little shake, rattle and roll. When I'm slowing to a stop sign, my car idles roughly @ 1000 RPM and then levels off. The wildest thing is that when I'm cruising along, she purrs like a pussy cat.... Is there anyone out there that knows wus sappening????????

How many miles you have on it?

If it 'shakes' at startup and shutdown it might be your motor mounts.

The cheap fuel thread kinda got my attention. I filled my tank with 87 octane instead of using my normal 93

    Do you have a V6?

if not get your motor mounts checked.

Is it a severe shaking? or just a mild shaking?

Check your TB cable and throttle body for carbon buildup, check your airfilter, check anything in the engine bay hahaha.

But really man, i'd think its the motor mounts, especially if its severe.

    Maybe they are loose?

    Outlaw Octane booster.

Have you ever used octane booster/cleaner?

I'd also clean out your TB with carb cleaner. Mine was idling rough and then dying until I cleaned the TB out. With car off, take off the intake tube and hold open the butterfly valve. Spray in the carb cleaner and wipe out with clean rag...It worked for me like magic!

When you say nothing - do you mean nothing as in the air filter? I'd check the air filter and the Throttle body. Remove the plastic intake hose and clean out everything you can reach w/ carb cleaner, particularly where that butterfly (flapper) makes contact with the throttle body wall. It may be sticking.

    clean the throttle body.

all that other crap is useless ( the gas treatment, the oil treatment, blah blah blah).

Sorry to ask this newbie question. but where is the throttle body?
I think I have the same problem and I want to try this method out.
    Thanks
Does anyone have a pic for it?

It's the metal thing next to the 3" black plastic intake tube that connects to it. It's connected to the intake plenum on your engine.... on the back-top of the engine if your standing in front of the radiator and looking at the engine.
