    Suspension lowering question

    Guyz,

When you use coilovers to lower your car, how many of the 'ORIGINAL' suspension components do you re-use?

I am specifically referring to the components that are on top of the Strut & Spring. Example: the strut mount bushings --- spacers --- etc etc.

I want to purchase NEW strut mount bushings and the rubber pads for the tops of the springs, but I'm not sure if I will need ALL of the original components or just SOME.

** The coilovers that I will be installing has a 'cap/hat' on the spring...... would I need to use this or can I leave it out.

    Please help.

You will problably ditch everything put half of the bump stop. The cap or hat replaces the top mount point for the spring. I don't think a strut boot will fit under the spring so that is out. I had a ton of parts left over after my coilover install. boots, top mount points for springs bottom spring holders for the rears I think. I wouldn't buy anything without talking to the shop that is installing your coilovers.
