    FWD to AWD...???

I was wondering if anyone ahd lookinto this subject before, or if it has been done. I found a vendor that had a Galant VR4 4g63T front clip, but with it they had the rear axel, drivetrain and awd tranny, plus right side steering wheel. My main thoughts were with these parts could we change our FWD's to AWD's?

    Straight out, no.

6G parts won't bolt up like up like that. If I ever do the AWD, I'm going to do a 2G Eclipse wheel hub swap, and get a Eclipse GSX rear end and tranny(and prolly gastank, to fit around the rear end) You're prolly going to have a driveshaft machined to fit, also.

    T'won't be cheap, neither.

I don't know much about 6gen, and what type of engine they had... But i was certain they made a 7gen Galant vr4, and i saw jdm front clips for Galant VR4 4g63T with AWD. Thought it was for a 7 gen, but might be wrong

will the 6a12TT fit in our cars??

physically the 6a12TT will fit. but other than that you're gonna have to put new mounts and all this other stuff for it to work in your car.

You can do it...but it ain't worth it. $$$$ spent trying to convert to AWD will easily double to value of your 7g as of now...hands down.

-You will have to buy a AWD tranny most likely fit will be from a 2g GSX, transfer case and have mounting points to hold it.
-Change fuel tank to accomodate the driveshaft and rear axle
    -Relocate exhaust piping
    -Make room for driveshaft
-change to WHOLE rear axle assembly
    -change rear suspension parts

Its not worth it IMO....unless you have the $$$ to throw around, but if I had money to throw around...I would get an Evo.

screw an evo, they are steep. if i had $22k to play with, i would have my G with a new 2.4Magnus longrod motor, their stage 3 head, their dogbox transmission in a awd case along with everything for awd, and a nice forced performance FP3065 turbo setup. now that would be fun.. actually, that's the goal of my project, but it may take a long while
