I thought the 8G tank size was 13.5 gallons??? Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't think you can overfill by nearly 3 gallons

Hey jusmills, 8g has got a 16.3 gallon tank.

I have a CAI and muffler on my car, and I get about 27 mpg on the highway, with A/C on full blast. my car has tons of miles and needs an oil change, so without A/C and a tune-up, can easily get the factory listed 29 mpg. And that is going 85 down the highway. I could probably get 400 miles on a tank easily, but my light comes on at 3.3, and after about 40 miles, I start to get nervous and pull in to a gas station. Just from experience, those of you getting really bad mileage, have your brakes checked. When I put my brembos on, I was only getting 24 tops, w/o A/C, and after I had them on, my mileage jumped over 3 mpg. If they are too tight, the pads could still be in contact with the rotor even when your foot is off the pedal, and that will rob mpg like mad.

Does anyone notice that as they go further on a tank, they get better mileage? When I fill up as soon as my light comes on (13 gallons) I never get more than 27, but when I tested my tank, I went 40 miles more, and it was only 14 to fill it up. that would mean I got 40mpg on that last gallon. Each time I have done that I got the same result, the further I went, the better my mileage (and the extra miles are all city miles).

Well I decided to run the thing until it was almost dry just to see how many miles I could get with the V6 and I barely pushed 250, and I even drove like a granny(most of the time) So I have no idea how you guys are getting 300-400 miles to a tank. Well just my input.

    Rob

p.s. and that was on 40 liters of fuel so you can figure out the milage if you want to do all the conversion math lol

Man y'all are soo freaking lucky... ok i have an i4 and get some 225-250 tops(this is with with|w/o A/C as my windows dont work) .. i have done the alignment and put the fuel treatment but i havent done wheel balance or checked my brakes but are u telling me brakes can fuck up yr mileage for 50-100 miles?? and the only things i have are short ram and muffler... so that shudnt be a problem?
my friends crappy 91 camery gives him 400 miles.... As a student shelling out every week 20-30 bucks for fuel aint fun!!!!!!!!!

Yes it does affect mileage. As does constantly making the tranny switch gears. Auto trannys use extra gas while shifting.

I thought I had it real bad since I get about 300 mptank; guess not.

Well if I fill the tank up and I do mean a full tank (gas overflows a little) I can drive about 50 miles before it starts to move. I get about 360 miles to the tank (since the intake/filter install). Going home to NYC from Buffalo is 415 miles. I stop at the halfway point at a half a tank or sometimes just above that.

280 miles on a full tank.

I used to get about 150-200 until I found out somebody butchered my ECU, had it rewired now its running good again.

When I had my SDS taken out the shop that took out the HKS AFR just cut the wires and never connected them back. I had everything rewired since it looked like they took a razor blade to it and hacked it up. Since the rewire, it runs very well.

I get anywhere from 300-315. Most I got was 400 on the highway, right after I changed my plugs.
