wow 3400lbs?! man i got mine down to 3040lbs the last time i weighed her. i havent cut any good times on the 205's i used to have. i now have the 225's and lowering the pressure made some difference but when you make as much low end as i do it doesnt matter. man i tried to launch in second and still lit them up all the way through second. i got a really good launch in first by letting it slip a little and peddling through first. that was when i cut that 15.4 @ 94. if i get a good launch i know she's a 14sec car here in utah which means trouble for those at sea level.

We dont have boosted cars, partial throttle first gears arent going to have the catastrophic effects on et's like a turbo car will. The only way to get a FWD car to get traction in 1st gear is to ride the clutch. Some of the best drivers will spin the tire and slip the clutch.

I usually can get people to race me by telling them I've got a FWD car with stock suspension and a V6, it defines wheelspin.

Reaction time does not affect your 1/4 mile time. You could sit at the line for 20 seconds, and still run a 10sec 1/4. The clock does not start till your car brakes the invisible start line.

You make no sense. Theres not many cheap stock 'grocery' getters that are fast out of the box. Any car takes money to mod correctly.

i agree wit you.. our us galants were only meant as a family car until we got a hold of them.. but they werent built fast that doesnt mean they cant be fast.. i have 2 take mine to the track to c how it does in almost stock form so i can c how it is wit a 5 spd then hoefully another run when its boosted

exactly!!! my dad changed between auto and 5 spd 5 times in his 87 mustang gt only 2 realize how much faster the auto is.. if i dont do the 5 spd swap im def building the shit outta my auto

take the same car auto and manual.......... the manual is faster. even in drag.
