Alnator belt..

The damn belt wont stop squealing when I start the car (does it for like 15 seconds) or when my I cut my headlights on (before the belt gets warmed up after driving for about 10-15 mins). Ive had my car since March and this will be the 2nd one I've put on. For the first month or two the belt is fine, no squealing at all.. then it starts. Ive tried grease, wd-40, beltdressing, loosening it, etc. Could the belt be to loose, bad pulleys? Gettin sick of changing belts cuz they keep burning up :evil:

Well, something is not balanced correctly, I'd say check your pullies and make sure they are tensioned correctly, I've got almost 90k on my car and have had no belt problems at all....yet.

Don't worry....you are not alone!

I have been through two belts in the last month...thinking it was the belt...and I just replaced my alternator...figured it was too tight....so I loosened it....still squeels.....SUCKS!!!

i had da same problem with my car but it was jus dat da belt was a lil loose now only once in a blue moon it happens.. :?
