    9g being sold in China

Here is a Chinese website with pics of a car they call the Grunder. From the pics it is based on the 9g Galant. I thought the 9g was a US only car?

    Taiwan Market Model

The Grunder is the Taiwan market model of the Galant. It is indeed based on the USDM 9G. CMC (China Motor Corp) has been producing Mitsu's in Taiwan for over 20 years and they tend to adjust the styling for their local tastes. The local Lancer, Savrin (Chariot Grandis) the Galant etc all have slightly different exteriors, and ins the case of the Grunder also a unique interior.
Given that Australia is also getting their own version of the Galant, it'll be interesting what that version will look like.
Finally, the JDM version of the Galant is going to look completely different, since it will be based on an evolved/reengineered JDM 8G platform/chassis...

We are getting the short end of the stick when it comes to choice, and appearantly looks and quality after seeing this. The sad thing is they are paying much less, in what obviously is a superior looking car as well as material quality. I swear, I am not going to buy anything else until I get the freedom to choose as anyone else for my hard earned money especially when dealing with the same company. Call it a personal boycott, if you will. Do you think it will matter?

No, that is the perenium. Didn't you pay attention in biology?

I think Grunder probably means Grand. Kind of like Galant Grand.

I wouldn't rule it out as the "freshening" of the 9G--kinda like what they did when they released the lancer in 2002-2003, then completely changed the look for '04. Maybe mitsu will get smart and make that the '06 Galant...It looks very lexus like...but I like it, almost making me think of buying another mitsu....

Interesting find. They were supposed to make a "world Galant" using a shared platform with Chrysler that will carry the next gen Serbing and Stratus, but that looks to have fallen through. So I guess "Project America" has gone global. I figured it was way too big to go over well elsewhere, especially China.
