there is no way on this earth that a car making 140hp at the crank makes 135 to the wheels. if you can find a car to do that you will never have to worry about money again.

okay back on subject.... i found the answer to my own question or at least i think so. I was on a site searching for turbos and found one for the 4G62, it said 6-9 pounds of boost (out of box), gives you up to 30% more HP. And with a variable boost controller, this paticular kit can add up to 18 pounds of boost. so that would be up to around 60% more hp.

So that means that if i was at 145hp now my ESTIMATED output, out of box, without a boost controller (6-9lbs or 30% more hp) it would be around 188.5hp

and with boost controler( 18lbs or 60% more hp) would go up to around 232hp

you need to search more, a lot more before taking on a turbo project..

it was in a certain format but after the shift over to the "new" TGC, the wording may be off a lil.
it's actually a pretty good start research wise. See if you can get the book "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell (or just ask mtcavity to send you the CD with the pdf file he has of my copy of the book). It explains EVERYTHING about turbo charging, what to expect, what turbo to use based on your target HP, boost, etc...

you can put up to 12 lbs of boost on stock internals, anything more and you should do forged internals. GOOSEY's running 12lbs daily with no problems.

It's a DSM, go get some random turbo bits from the junkyard and put together something. run it, laugh when it blows up, build another one, then you'll learn.

.....that there is more depth to the answers above than you'll ever comprehend.

your post sounds very helpful, this is why people like dont like to come on here and post more often cuz of people like you, if you have nothing to post that would help answer his question then dont post at it

do your research and you will find out all your info, yes you can put 12-15psi on the stock motor but you will have to get the right components and get a good tune for it and you should be ok

do more search and you will find all your answers
