Great way to start my morning...

Well, on the way to work today there was a multi-vehicle accident involving 3 cars behind me. A Honda accord slammed into a honda Civic, then a huge Chrysler 300M slammed into the accord, it was pretty bad, some injuries as well. I wasnt injured but had to clear the scene for the police and ambulance units, as well as shut down the road (Palatine road just west of Arlington Heights Rd for those of you who know the area) so I messed up everyone's morning and made them late for work!! haha I'm not hurt, but I was standing out in the cold for an hour and a half with the police...filing reports, etc.

Now the bad news The car behind me (the civic) was pushed into my rear bumper. There isn't really bad damage, just 2 holes and a little bit of a dent from the persons front license plate, and u can barely see it acually. Regardless, I filed a claim on the responsible person's insurance and am gonna get it fixed. Shouldn't take too long or cost the poor sucker much.

Well, the 300M (black, tints, leather, 19s, HEMI!!!), the Civic (POS), and the Accord (POS) were pretty messed up, prolly all totalled, but the good news there were no life threatening injuries. Cops were amazed that no one was killed, it looked really bad. I'm glad I helped everyone out.

Time to go over to the insurance inspector and get my work done.

I had a car bump in the the rear of my NX2000 a few years ago. All it did was mark up the bumper cover. I think I got around $450 from the insurance company for it. I used to money to repain the NX. I would guess you would get about the same.

I had this kid in a S10 pickup truck hit my cars rear bumper last year. He had a hitch on the front, so it put a hole i my bumper. It cost his insurance company $485 for a new bumper and have it painted.

You know the ridge that runs along the bottom of the bumper, well she hit directly in there...it's almost impossible to see the marks...I'd do worse parallel parking. Maybe I'll take the cash and get my tints and some other stuff...

    Pics

You cant see it at all...

Here's a close up...nothing a little touch up paint wont fix, right?

Some punk in a green sable bounced off my bumper one wet morning. The bumper cover was cracked and paint torn off. Cost $625 bucks to replace/paint a new cover and the kid's parents paid me directly to avoid their insurance company getting involved. I am wanting to guess that this run in wasnt this punk's first.
