    OIl Leak

I was changing the ig rotor and distributor cap and noticed oil leaking from the lower screw area of the cap. The rubber seal was melted a litttle bit and after installing and wiping the area the bottom screw won't go in anymore. Is there somewhere i could get a new rubber piece? Don't even know what it's called. Is it serious or what? Oil is also leaking on to the ignition wires when I changed the spark plugs. Some were soaked more than others. I got some advice from my buddies of whom none are Galant owners so I need a little help[/b]

Basically you can take your distributor out and clean arond it with a napkin and also inside of the head and you can seal it with that red high temp silicone... and as for your spark plugs having oil on them you need to replace your valve stem seals....

no if the tops of yoru spark plugs have oil on then(your plugwireboots too) you need to replace the orings in the valve cover(takes all of 20 minutes to do) justy order a valvecover gasket set.

as for your distributor. most likely its the distributor oring, or the seal where the distributor plugs into the head/cam. again, an easy fix. get the parts from your dealer.
