So you're using the stock caliper and same size brake pads? What's the advantage of running a larger disc if you have the same contact surface from stock-size calipers and pads???

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(pinoyesv6)</div><div class='quotemain'>did the brakes come with a diagram that you can cut out and test on your wheels for fitment?? i know other bigger brake kits come with it, maybe these came with some also??</div>
No, just the rotors, brackets, bolts, zip ties, and the instruction manual - I'll take a measurement from the center of the wheel to the edge of the caliper so anyone else who might want to get the kit can get an idea to see if their wheel will fit.

The caliper is moved out further from the center, so there is a greater mechanical advantage. Take a wrench and hold close to the center, it is harder to loosen a bolt.
These aren't racing brakes, they just look really good and improve braking a little bit.
Also, larger diameter = larger rotor mass. That means more capacity to convert friction into heat before you overtemp your pads. In a track situation, you will get a little more out of your brakes before they start to fade.</div>
FWIW, they really have increased my stopping power - maybe down at the SoCal meet we can do some brake distance tests
I have them as well, just mine are the AEM one. The main advantage of going to a bigger rotor is that it can take more heat. The hoeat the rotor can take, the more you can pound in it.
I have 17 inch wheels and mine fit no problem.
I was luckiy in that I didn't have to grind away anything.

so aem makes them or what?
AEM sold their brake line to Powerslot. Powerslot is just using up what is left of the AEM stock.
powerslot bought the brakes division at AEM so im guessing they are just finishing what they had left of the AEM stuff. the braking surface of the rotor though, are powerslot.
As stated a few posts up.

has anyone felt the difference with this kit and stock calipers....or is it strictly for show??ive heard from people that having stock calipers doesnt help much with the kit,,,i mean if u get oem sized drilled and slotted or these,,,itll be kinda the same..
I definitely noticed a difference, and this is from someone who beat up on them at the track, not just the street. I like them and I think they make a difference for sure. Some people hated them when they first came out because they weren't heat treated, but the later ones were. They also got rid of cross-drilling and went with only slotting for better durability, If you are looking for brakes, avoid cross-drilling. That is strictly for show and makes your brakes more likely to warp.

if any1 is wondering, PPS has prices slightly lower than that
00+ GT Big Brake Upgrade
Front: $346.50
Rear: $153.50
00-01 GS/RS Big Brake Upgrade
Front: $358.50
Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.
Mo's actually right. a bigger rotor or bigger caliper will only allow for more abuse of the brakes because heat will dissapate more. it wont actually lower your stopping distance.Originally Posted by mochanges
actually, believe it or not, your braking distance is largely affected by the type of tires you have. my brembo's are awesome because they can take some heavy beating and i wont experience as much brake lag.

How much is a set of SSBC, dosent Jason sell them? I'm still set on swapping on all 4 corners from an evo, but SSBC are pretty nice as well, and for the cash the powerslot upgrade looks sweet. Esp if you have the 2 piston fronts.

 brigning back from the dead
Here's an older pic showing the old cross-drilled design. I have replaced these with the slotted only design.

was the caliper rubbing on the rim problem ever solved?
