CAN I PUT AN ECLIPS GSX ENGINE IN MY 7TH GEN. GALANT WITHOUT MAKEING IT ALL WHEEL DRIVE?????????????????????????????

First, take off the caps locks...


Second, yes you can use the gsx engine (4g63t) or the gst engine (4g63t)

or any turbo'ed 1g's (1g means 1st generation eclipse) engine (4g63t)

you don't need the transmission for the swap.... correction, you can't use the gsx transmission w/o converting you car to awd...

I don't mean to be an ass but please use the search button next time, this question has been ax'ed a hundred times.

Yes..you can just swap the motor, the only difference is just us a FWD tranny. Difference is a AWD tranny will have a transfer case in conjunction with it that runs the driveshaft to run the rear wheels.
