There is no straight answer to your question. It all depends on the offset of the wheel and how much you are dropped. Plus every Galant will react to a drop differently with regards to how much it actually drops and how much the camber is off, if at all.
My advice is to not go any wider than 8" with an offset no higher than +45mm and no lower than +38mm. Of course depending on the drop, you might have to roll the rear fenders. And I'm not sure, but a +45mm offset with a wide wheel might be too close to the suspension and will rub. With an 18" wheel, stick with 225/40 tires and with a 17" wheel stick with 225/45.
